If this is the best either England or Italy can do I'll never complain about Watford again. Awful stuff for two supposedly top international sides.
Classic stalemate. Then they will blame the schedule like they did in the summer . Italy probably have a bit more of an excuse as it’s a young team building long term and with no World Cup to plan for .
I am listenig to it. They siad our record with a back three was much worse than that with a back four. ¡¡Hope RE was listening!!
Yes one moment of quality really . Poor channel 4. Got the England games - only seen one goal in 5 games and that was a penalty! Work to do before the World Cup . Won’t help fans morale or player confidence.
How lucky is Southgate to be managing the National Side if he were managing a club side he would be sacked tonight
Gareth Southgate says England's performance in their defeat by Italy was "a step in the right direction" despite the Three Lions being relegated to the Nations League's second tier. England are without victory in five games for the first time since June 2014 following the 1-0 loss in Milan. They have also failed to score a goal from open play in 495 minutes. "It's difficult for me to be too critical of the performance," said England manager Southgate. "We had more possession, more shots, more shots on target. For large parts of the game we played very well," he added.
Interesting story - Doncaster City, in the 13th tier of English football, looking to challenge Celtic and Rangers in the Scottish Cup. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport...doncaster-city-make-bizarre-scottish-28046480
Probably could beat a few teams given time ! Probably more worrying then if we played “well” but didn’t look like scoring . Cannot remember many clear cut chances have to say even if we had more on target . I guess he has to be positive in public and support the team as he has to work with them for the next few months.
I didn’t watch it, but trooper Matej did and says he has never seen a worse game of football. Given he watches any, any, match broadcast, be it Dartford U17s v Poole Reserves or whoever, that’s pretty damning in my book.
Hopefully Rob Edwards isn’t watching his old team being well beaten by Exeter so far . Another team thinking they are Man City trying to play out from the back and being caught out .
Scotland and Ireland serving up a fairly decent match at Hampden - with the Irish sadly leading 1-0 at half time. Their fitness levels are certainly impressive, constantly pressing all across the pitch, though I wonder if they can maintain than in the second half.
