.... Why anyone would want the charges thrown out is beyond me.. You just cant change the rules when things don't go your way...
Just a reminder that City have been charged with ''serious breaches of financial regulations'' and ''failing to cooperate with investigations into those breaches'' - these are more serious than simply failing to comply with fair play rules. The charge is one of falsifying accounts which is a criminal offence under section 17 of the Theft Act of 1968. If the assertions are true, it's probable that the law may have been broken as well. If City are guilty of this then not only are custodial sentences possible but expulsion from the Premier League would be an inevitability. Once their appeal has failed (if it does) then a whole array of legal possibilities emerge in the UK - so there is a lot riding on this. Much as I dislike the way City have bought their way to the top - I do not wish a second 'Glasgow Rangers situation' inflicted on them - though their level of guilt (if found so) would be very much on the same scale. What is truly sad is that what is nothing more than an image coup for Abu Dhabi has the effect of tarnishing the name of Manchester - should they even be allowed to bear the city's name ?
News just coming through here that Swiss prosecutor indicts Paris Saint-Germain boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi and ex-FIFA number two in bribery case. Details will no doubt follow, but it looks as if the net is closing both here and England.
I don't mind who they catch up with if the charges against them are proven. Nasser Al-Khelaifi is accused of giving bribes to obtain TV rights for his BeIn channels. As I suggested the other day being the owner of TV sports channels and Paris SG brings a conflict of interest into play. Once you allow money to take over the game it brings a whole new set of problems.
FIFA are now suing Blatter and Platini for the dodgy 'undue payment' which has not been repaid despite them losing an appeal to Cas.
Blatter and Platini were not exactly underpaid, but they could see the vast sums of money sloshing around and through their greed thought they would have some more of it. The owners of some of the largest clubs can see that by bending the rules they can also feather their nest. Some of this money could find its way down to the grassroots of football, rather than finish up in the pockets of a few rich men who don't actually need it.
All corruption should be dealt with... Pretty clear really... I have no time for people with money paying lawyers to cover their tracks... It stinks
All corruption clearly should be dealt with but proper legal representation is a right for all, even those with more money than some would like them to possess. Man City have a perfect right to employ the best, most effective, lawyers available. I'm sure dodgy organisations like Uefa / Fifa seek the best to hide their dodgy practices.
So it looks as if a new club Bury AFC will emerge from the ashes of the old Bury, following a default on the CVA agreed they are likely to be put into liquidation. Bury AFC have been accepted to play in The North West Counties Football League , which is the 10th tier of English football. Along with Bury another new clus has been accepted into that league, FC Isle of Man. As far as I know no team from there has played in the English system.
Good luck to them. In the big boys league Bournemouth (with help from Vydra and VAR.) and Villa losing.
There but for the last minute intervention of the Pozzo.s could have been us if we had been stuck with our last crooked owner
Which end of the VAR decisions will we get today! It's sort of come to that hasn't it - pot luck as to if they even see an incident!
Think is if we do go down they will be blamed " for a lack of investment " but let's hope that doesn't happen !
Sure as eggs is eggs, not by me. They have invested in our ground, in the player squad and have put a lot of money into community projects. I have total respect for them.
