I have an awkward probably unsavoury question regarding Sala Cardiff bought him for £15 M on Saturday and he disappeared on Monday. Do Cardiff have to pay???
As far as I know all professional footballers are insured, but would a policy have come into effect in such a short time frame? Some reports suggest that the pilot was not licensed to fly for profit, so that would throw some more doubt into the mix with insurers moving the blame around. It could take a very long time to sort it all out. Just a real tragic event for all concerned.
A vote has appeared on one of Everton's board over Silva should stay or go. Many posters claim to have never wanted him in the first place.
I have another question for you learned ones on here. I watched the Chelsea game on telly and agree with the decision to overturn the first penalty decision it was in fact a fantastic last ditch tackle. My question is why did Marriner start the game by dropping the ball at Caballero's feet? Surely it should have been a corner!
One assumes Marriner blew his whistle to stop play before the ball left the field of play. That being so it is a quick fire decision and hasn't given himself time to think. If the ball is out of play before he blows his whistle then the restart is a corner which, by any measure, would be a just outcome. With the ball in play the correct restart is a drop ball. What the referee cannot do is "manufacture" the drop ball. i.e. he cannot order a non-competitive drop ball. The BBC highlights don't show what happened so I cannot comment except to say that he should have explained the situation to both sides and, given that the tackle was deemed fair and a corner should have resulted then the drop ball had to be competitive because the attacking team has lost its advantage unfairly... Not sure I'd expect the defending team to kick it out for a corner! I understand the keeper was "given" the ball? Marriner made a hasty decision. Marriner made a bad judgment call as proven by VAR. Marriner did not explain the restart properly and as such it was poorly executed. Marriner has made a total dogs dinner of the incident whichever way you look at it.
Thanks for that comprehensive response Fez, I have to say I am not a fan of Marriner so I'm not surprised by your response.
They will happy in Liverpool - Everton win and Man City beaten so Liverpool could go well clear. And didn't expect to see Fulham come back from 2 down. Crazy night really. Loads of goals around - defences caught cold? Annoyingly Luton are now 5 points clear in League One.
2019 not shaping up to be the best of years. Ah well - at least the only football that really matters is going ok.
Looked on the Liverpool board last night - Raffa is an eternal legend, and all Geordies are honorary Scousers
I think Liverpool play Newcastle towards the end of the season - be interesting to see what happens if both need points! I noticed Qatar have won the Asian Cup beating Japan - have they suddenly found a group of very talented young footballers or nationalising some from South America for example to make sure they can compete in in their own World Cup?
Tragically understandable, however, not the greatest timing in my opinion. Nantes want Cardiff's money. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47146614
Does prove football can be a bit brutal at times . Guess they have accounted for the 15 million they were expecting . Doesn't help that 5 people were going to gain "payments " from the transfer !
I don't know what state the Nantes finances are in, but they could be relying on it to pay wages etc. I think it is a shame that it has come out into the open that they are asking for a payment within 10 days. It really needs both parties to sit down together and sort it out behind closed doors.
I just hope Cardiff are insured. It is wholly reasonable to expect them to pay what is due now under the terms of the contract. Tragic, all the same.
