strange things happening with Bolton..they haven't announced the appointment and the caretaker manager is in charge on Saturday...what gives eh?
Well, just as their star striker does little more than warm a bench every game, perhaps they're going to sign him as a substitute manager and have him sitting on a bench too.
As Freedman has left Palace I would be surprised if this is the case, but the most likely reason I can think of is that the clubs haven't agreed a compensation package.
The Champions league results suggests despite all the hype the Premiership isn't "the greatest league in the world"
Very true - I'm wondering if the bubble has burst. The German teams did well tonight with Schalke embarrassing Arsenal and B Dortmund beating Real Madrid. An intriguing stat from that last match was the crowd - 65829. When they played Schalke on Saturday, Dortmund pulled in over 80000. Are the locals more interested in the Bundesliga, I wonder.
Dortmund's stadium has a higher capacity for domestic games because stadia aren't required to be all seater in German games whereas they are for the CL. Their stadium's capacity drops from roughly 82,000 to 66,000 when seats are put into the main stand. I'd imagine more expensive tickets wouldn't help either.
Not sure that it is the case - I seem to remember reading about a £500K 'compensation fee' - can't remember where though.
Serbia FA have banned 2 players for a year and two coaches for 2 years. I presume UEFA will punish the fans..
Marvellous quote from them "All four have violated the FSS ethics and fair-play code." Strange to be banned for violating something that doesn't appear to exist. Interestingly, the FSS don't actually stipulate what the offences were that the four were guilty of - and they still deny the accusations of racism.
From the article in the local newspaper, Sean will be appointed, but the five directors of the club were split 3-2 in favour. Nice to know that two of them don't actually want you.
Schalke also brought about 8,000 fans with them as it is a derby match, Gelsenkirchen (The home of Schalke 04) is only about 16 miles from Dortmund.
i heard he was also up for the Palace job and was thinking about both...i hope he takes Burnley..though not sure why!
Good to see Chelsea have taken the misbehaviour of their players well, I expected something but not to accuse mark Clattenberg of racism. After John Terry and his machinations I would have though Chelsea would have tried to steer clear of something like this as if Mark Clattenberg is found not guilty the club should be in big trouble, or probably not; but Clattenberg's career will be ruined whatever the outcome.
Well he's managed that quite nicely by himself - those game turning decisions he made in ManUre's favour were atrocious.
I haven't heard what he was supposed to have said, but i did hear that with the mouthpiece, if he said anything terrible he would have been heard loud and clear, so if the other officials including the 4th ref heard him, he'd be sunk. So far, they haven't admitted to hearing anything...
Another bad weekend for the officials..I think they must be egar for some video technology. Shame as the 2 big games were very good footballing wise...
