I don't think it matters whether Davids has the legs for League Two. If promising him a chance to prove himself was what it took to get him to Underhill, so be it. Their form can't get any worse! Barnet have the same problem every season. They start the campaign looking at their budget, looking at their relative lack of experience, and condemning theirselves to a long hard slog before a ball has been kicked. And they come up with the same answer every season, by finding a new way to inspire the team after a woeful start. Whether that's bringing in a competent nutter like Martin Allen, a Barnet cult hero like Giuliano Grazioli, someone who has made a career out of the plucky underdog tagline in Lawrie Sanchez (Barnet were clear of relegation when he was sacked) or in this case a footballing legend like Edgar Davids. Their days in the league are numbered, but I think they've got at least one more great escape in them.
Before his loan he had never played a senior match, now he has scored in the prem and plays most weeks. I like to think we had something to do with that
We've taught a few young lads how to play the professional game....the Chelsea lad will be the next one to break through! As for England...job done but not very convinced.
True - plus I was surprised at the tactics, especially when Carroll came on - they simply didn't change to suit his strengths, just kept on trying to pass/walk through the extremely crowded middle. About the only thing I can say for San Marino is that they'd give Scotland a run for their money
I see that Ipswich have taken a goalkeeper on loan from West Ham. Wonder if they are thinking that SL wasn't such a bargain after all?
Edgar Davids has named himself as captain and plays for Barnet tonight against Northampton. It is almost two years since he played his last game.
BREAKING TEAM NEWS - Barnet v Northampton (20:00 BST) Edgar Davids starts for Barnet - and also names himself as captain. I guess he'd better put in a good performance !!
OFH you are faster than me !! Sorry to post what you had already mentioned about ED above. I think a few people would go just to see the footballing version of predator !
Looking at Barnet's team sheet - I bet, after leaving Watford, Andy Yiadom never envisaged seeing his name next to Edgar Davids in a programme.
Yet again leeds fans prove what we have always known. That they are just mindless thugs. One just ran on the pitch and assaulted Chris Kirkland. I hope the twat is locked up
