Local sides doing well in the cup - Wood lead Notts County 1-0, St. Albans 1-1 against Carlisle.

As far as I understand it the red poppy is worn to commemorate those military personnel who died in war, the white poppy to remember the civilians who died, and a purple one to remember the animals who died. Bearing in mind that 90% of the victims of modern warfare are civilians I know which I would choose, if any, but a white poppy would not show up on the England shirts. Should I remember the bomber pilot or the civilians who was under his bombs ?

Back to Burnley - not really sure why he left them in the first place?

He was probably trying to run away from FL gambling charges - forgot to leave his habit behind though.

Not sure I have ever seen a more unconvincing 3/0 scoreline!

But maybe that sums up both sides --

We do enough to win whilst the Scots would be playing all weekend without scoring.

Anya got his usual injury too..

The Ighalo v Guedioura World Cup match up has been a bit of a fizzer - 3 minutes to go and neither has been on the field.

Nigeria leading 2-1, but lucky - their second goal was so far offside even the scorer stopped in disbelief.

Let's hope Vardy isn't in such form on Sat!!

Playing well - trouble is we usually do in friendlies and it means nothing when it comes to the tournament.

Been watching a bit of the FA Cup replay between Brackley Town, my nearest club when I was in the UK. Seeing as they are in the conference north they have done well against Gillingham, leading 2-1 at half time. The Gillingham goal was scored by Jake Hessenthaler the son of the Watford stalwart.

The Brackley win 4-3 over Gillingham was a really good cup tie. Back to work for the part-timers tomorrow, but a trip to Blackpool to look forward to.

One of the most memorable matches I've ever attended was against Harlow Town in the cup. Cor, that was a game! I remember being allowed to stay up and watch it on MotD - what a strange experience that was! <laugh>
