Fulham are close to appointing Maccabi Tel-Aviv chief coach Slavisa Jokanovic as their new manager, according to reports in Israel. The former Watford manager has reportedly agreed terms with the Championship outfit but the sticking point has been the amount of compensation Fulham will be required to pay Maccabi for taking their manager. Maccabi have declined to comment on whether Jokanovic has been approached but officials at the club have confirmed the reports off the record.
They certainly could do with some defensive work which Slav was good at! BTW Our friends up the road are hoping they get a new ground after about 100 years of trying.
Don Howe died - a coach of some repute I believe but another anti GT man? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35171937
Watched him play many times at West Brom when I was at school. Full backs were all about defence in those days and he was a very consistent performer. Albion's left back then, Welshman Graham Williams, was also an international .
Fulham, Bolton and Forest have been banned from signing any new players in January because they breached the FFP rules. I think we are safe.
AFC Bournemouth posted losses of more than £6million and will face a fine for breaking financial fair play rules, it has been revealed. The amount of money they will have to pay is yet to be announced.
Oh be fair Mark, Howe may be a bit of a slimy, smarmy, narcissistic git, but he is a fine manager (so far).
Ok guys have i got this right, An owner wants to over spend to try and get the big money , He will put the club at risk ? So the league fine the club which could put the club at risk ? And stop them in the transfer market for a time . The only true way to stop them doing this is the next season in the league they start with - points
Yes he and the club have done a great job but they have spent money to achieve it as well (like most clubs do) Its all about using the funds wisely which Howe has done very well.
I would have though QPR would have been a better fit for Ed Balls: Absolutely clueless with finance, spend, spend, spend.
I've just read his profile on the club website and I have to say I'm impressed, he's far better qualified than I knew!
Doesn't he know that Norwich run their club sensibly and only spend what they can reasonably afford?. Qualified? Don't let him anywhere near the money as he's got form.
