Surely this is the most egotistical, narcissistic and corrupt organisation outside of Pyongyang? Including Pyongyang come to think of it!

Auckland lost 2-1 to San Lorenzo after extra time. An amazing performance.

After a home draw against then 7th place Arsenal, Brendan Rodgers says:
    And further on...
The point is Brendan, me old mucker, they ain't the same players as last season, are they? That's why you're tenth - after this home draw against 7th place. <doh>

    Surprised he lasted so long.

Could they not afford to sack him?

From some of the comments seen today, I think we are hoping for a manager with experience of the FL. <yikes>

He'd never work with the controls the Pozzos have on the management and the players would hate his style.

"Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew could be on his way to Crystal Palace following talks between the two clubs.

BBC Sport has learned that discussions regarding Pardew moving from Newcastle to Palace have taken place."

He was nearly a free agent a few weeks ago.

And he spends all his free time in London as well apparently so that must be a temptation for him. Not sure he'll be what Palace need to stay up tbh but you'd imagine he'll be given more time even if they go down.

If I'd had the abuse that Pardew has had heaped upon him by those fair-minded, unbigoted, intelligent Geordie-types, then I'd want to leave at the first opportunity that a job I wanted came along. Hopefully it will leave the Maggies in a mess, and we can pass them by next year as they drop.

It's not that I'm not a Newcastle fan (if you know what I mean), it's just the treatment he has taken - after all, Newcastle have had more success than for years under him - and still they whinge on. It's primarily because he comes from south of Darlington.

Actually I'll admit I'm more of a Sunderland fan meself..........

Same here - I warmed to them around the end of September 1982. Wasn't particularly fussed before that... :emoticon-0100-smile
