Cracking goal from Sean Maloney to put Scotland ahead - of course, it was Anya's brilliantly taken corner that set him up...
Unreal, I was in Portugal when they won 2004. Ten years down the line and well, well, well that is a new low for them!
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/nov/15/fifa-uefa-world-cup-germany-football?CMP=twt_gu Anyone know how to organise a cross-boards poll to see how many agree we should follow Germany's lead?
Anyone see how Anya played? There seems to be a growing belief that he is playing his best games for Scotland, while his form for Watford (seemingly since being selected to play for Scotland) has been barely better than average.
I remain firmly convinced that the standard of international football (even the top countries) barely reaches that of the Championship. If Anya shines during Scotland matches and barely glimmers during Watford games, that would seem to confirm it.
Didn't achieve his previous heights - a fairly quiet game by his standards. The Irish seem to have done their homework on him & had two players marking him most of the time.
I think the likes of Spain, Argentina,Germany and France are somewhat better than most Premier leagues sides on their day! However you might be right about those 3rd and 4th tier nations like the home nations hence the comptetive groups some have. Of course Anya being fit and in his right position helps for the Scots.
Hmmm. I would like to see Spain, Argentina or Germany play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge - it would be interesting to say the least. I suggest they would struggle.
True - I was thinking more of those outside the 'Big 4' although that isn't so clear cut this season.
Italy v Croatia game stopped after fireworks thrown onto the pitch. What on earth do those idiotic Croatian fans get out of doing that?
Man City vs Argentina would be interesting. Maybe Aguerro and Zaballetta could change sides at half time
Cracking goal. Mrs HF, being the Arsenal STH in the house is well happy. Love for Anya to get one so long as England win of course.
Agreed. Why can't we have this fixture every year? It must be a money spinner so that would have the FA interested - what's the problem?
