Tan has appointed Russell Slade as Cardiff manager calling MM a "mediocre manager from Watford". What a knob.
Did well at Orient last season but didn't get in with the new owners so be interesting to see how long this lasts. Cardiff fans don't seem impressed.
Let's see how much Tan will back his comments about Malky up - ask him if he'll repeat them at a packed Celtic Park!
An interesting piece in the French press tonight. FC Barcelona and Espanyol are in danger of being thrown out of Spanish football. La Liga cannot accept foreign clubs, so if Catalonia should have the referendum in November that Madrid has banned then things might happen. The President of La Liga is talking about the clubs being expelled if the referendum is held, not if the region should have independence. Cannot see this happening, but it seems as if the rules could bring it about.
2 more examples of how money rules the game this week. The Premier league thinking of moving games abroad to reach out to those fans in foreign countries. Also the suggestion England might play around the country (which in itself isn't a bad idea) IF the FA can secure a NFL franchise.

I don't think Hodgson's job as national coach is helped by players and clubs telling him when they can or cannot be picked...
Agree - and I don't think the notion that we have to beat everyone by 5 or 6 goals as they're apparently not very good is especially constructive. He now has the opportunity to use these qualifiers as a chance to drill the team which is something that doesn't happen too often!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29572414 Ridiculous, things are loaded already with qualification for the 2champions" League stretching down into the second, third or fourth placed teams. Now the big boys want to have wild cards to keep them in after a bad season. Totally momey driven if the quote about missing out is to be believed. If they aren't good enough that's an end to it, you can't come tenth and be given entry to something for the real elite, what next giving Leeds or Forest automatic entry because their fans still think they are big teams.
Just watched the Iceland v Netherlands game - magnificent effort by Iceland to win 2-0. Serious contenders?
Hamilton won this evening to go 4 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier. The attendance was little over 4000. I can't imagine many Of the smaller English clubs getting such a low attendance if they were in a similar position. What does this say about Scottish football?
