    No - he was a youngster at Newcastle, but they released him and he went to Carlisle. Man U signed him from Carlisle, but he only played 1 game for them before going back to Newcastle.

    It's nice to see some English players going abroad again (Micah Richards has just signed loan deal with Firoentina). If they cannot get first team Premier League football then it's got to be a decent education to play in Serie A, the Bundesliga or primera liga and all the better for the national team..

    I would call it a 'typical' England match of late, when playing a team intent on defending. Plenty of possession, a few nice moves but ultimately very little in the way of clear cut chances.

    I looks like I chose the better England match to watch - the women's T20 against South Africa. A spectacular collapse by SA from 71-2 to 99 all out.
