    Sorry if I upset you or anyone else mate. As far as I'm concerned, Ear Ache was taking the piss & I was standing up for my club.

    As far as Quinny is concerned of course I love the bloke & am saddened he's gone.

    Why does every thread end up with insults being traded? Banter's okay, but most people resort to abuse.

    As for the OP, I and I'm sure many, many others will be eternally grateful for everything he has done.

    They should rename Sunderland Niall Quinn - Why? Because he sums up people from the area. As an exile in Bristol there are no better people than those from the Sunderland area - his passion for the club and the area says it all to me. He is the best thing that has ever happened to the football club. I wish him all the best for the future but I am very sad to see him leave the club - it is like a very bright light going out. With all the negatives that are in football at the moment - he is a massive positive. I will never forget the time he paid for taxis for the supporters stranded in Bristol - would any other chairman do this - I guess we all know the answer to this. All the best to him - we will never see his like again.

    Niall Quinn - He arrived as a footballer, turned into a saviour and leaves as a legend. Thank you Niall, you are a true great.
