Sir Quinn saved our club, no less. He became involved when we were in dire straits and put his heart and soul in to support us. The journey for him must have been difficult at times, as he himself admits he is not at heart a hard headed business man - just a footballer. If he had to leave then this is a perfect time as he has left us at a high with a real positive future laid out. Thanks to a gent and a star and a legend both on and off the field.
Name spelt wrong ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niall_Quinn The only think Quinn will be doing now is getting back to his Irish roots:looking after his race horses and having a few drinks now and then. I doubt very very much that he will have anything to do with Man City.
He had the soul of the club in his charge and he looked after it well. Compare to Fat Mike up the road. All the best and many, many, thanks Big Niall. True legend.
I'm gutted NQ has left. Good luck niall & thank you if not for NQ we could have gone down the same road as Portsmouth & Leeds. A true legend. I think we should rename a stand at the SOL after him.
Well this thread doesn't appear to be going very well or fitting of the great man..... I would like to write many words to express my personal gratitute for everything and every choice that Sir Niall Quinn made during his tenure of our great club however I shall be brief. Thanks for everything bigman, the memories of you as a footballer, a manager, a chairman and ambassador for our club will remain in our hearts for aslong as we live.
Aye, this is one thread where I think NUFC fans should refrain from Wumming on or making stupid remarks. They should feel free to create threads if they want to WUM (or attempt it) but leave the other ones alone.
I remember him saying that when he left after playing football he knew there would be a reason he would come back, & come back he did to start the revolution, he raised money for children's charities from his testimonial, build a statue of him, name a stand after him, he deserves it all, big thanks Niall, good luck for the future
Viking Erik has a good point. If you woke up this morning without looking at any news websites, came on this forum and saw 'The Niall Quinn tribute thread' then you could be forgiven for immediately thinking the worst.
Only those with an attention span of about 5 seconds... Anybody who would care to investigate the topic prior to 'jumping to an incorrect conclusion' would clearly assertain the facts before posting an ignorant comment.
I posted "I thought he was dead for a second". I.e. I saw the title, thought for a second Quinn was dead, then read the OP. You'd have to be a ****ing moron not to grasp that.
If you're too thick to grasp basic English please contact chappedarse, as he is renowned for verbal diarrhoea !
It was an incoherent sentence about a man called GC and some footballing skunks. Please enlighten me, Oh Intelligent One
