Harbaugh to the NY Giants so that's one HC role gone, not that Flores was ever in the running for that job obviously. Have to say that's a bit of a coup for them.

Interesting to see what happens with Flores. Steelers seems the most likely as he has worked there before, but all the stuff that happened when he was at the Dolphins might put teams off hiring him as head coach. There has been a lot of stuff saying that teams would never hire him because of that, especially as a HC

The question is whether he is interested in leaving for a DC job somewhere else if he can’t get a HC role.

2027 is now looking to be a deep QB class so if McCarthy struggles in 2026 it may give the Vikings options for the 2027 draft.

Feel like this gets said a lot about future draft classes. A year is a long time in sport so it’s just too early to say.

Unfortunately the Wilfs won’t ever let this team properly tank for the long term benefit so even if it is a stacked class it’s unlikely the Vikings will be in a good enough position to really take advantage. Probably be like the year they took McCarthy in another stacked QB class

He actually interviewed for the Commanders DC job. Personally, I think he'll either become a HC elsewhere or return to the Vikings as DC. Vikings seem confident he'll return if he doesn't get a HC job. Vikings will cough up to keep him.

If he was happy to stay seems odd he’d even go for the interview unless he’s just trying to leverage a better deal from the Vikings. Pretty sure his contract has expired so he is a free agent

It has so he's just keeping his options open which is fair enough.

So divisional round this weekend. With the Eagles out and the Chiefs not making the playoffs, two of the teams I'd least like to make the super bowl are gone. Just need the Patriots and Bears to be knocked out, then I'm happy...

Though if the Seahawks make the super bowl, the 'duh ViKiNgS GoT RiD Of sAm dArNoLd' narrative will reach unbearable levels of annoyance, so I'm hoping the Seahawks get eliminated quickly too.

Honestly can't call 3 of the games. Only game I am reasonably confident about is the Seahawks beating the 49ers. Think it will a game too far for an injury hit 49ers. They've done superbly just to get this far but think Seattle will be too strong for them. The only question with them is this is Darnold's first play off game since the Rams debacle so he still needs to prove himself when it matters.

The other 3 games are 50-50 IMO. Broncos and Texans have incredible defences but have question marks about their offences. I look forward to see how Allen and Maye take them on. In the Rams-Bears game I just lean Rams as I trust Stafford more than Williams. But Williams could come up with an explosive play to change the game and the Bears are at home so a Bears win wouldn't surprise me.

Utter stupidity from the Bills there. What did they think they were going to do with 16 seconds left and no timeouts? Take a ****ing knee!

Bo Nix has broken his ankle so he's out for the remainder of the season. Can't see Broncos beating either the Pats or Texans without their number 1 QB.

They went something like 10 years with a record no worse than 6-10 or better than 9-7 as well.

Only team worse to follow is the Vikings

Nah, being a Vikings fan is great. It's an emotional rollercoaster with crushing lows and exhilarating highs, but never boring. Sure it'd be easier to be a Chiefs or Patriots fan, but I wouldn't change being a Vikings for anything, and knowing what would happen after becoming a Vikings fan in 2013, I'd do it all over again... Plus, they have a cool Prime Time Purple thing.

On another note, looks like the Texans are going to lose. If they win, it won't be because of their offence.

A rollercoaster with zero highs sounds like a **** rollercoaster

Hopefully the Texans can comeback in this game

With them not being in the playoffs for a while I forgot how much I dislike the Patriots, be typical if Maye starts off another dynasty for them

I mean they had 5 turnovers in their favour and didn't score many points from them, maybe it's the conditions... who knows.

Whoever sang the US national anthem before the Bears game can certainly belt it out.
