Very nice start to the season. Very assured performance from Darnold. Jones clearly going to be an asset at RB.
Glad to see Darnold do well. I know he wasn't good but I always felt it was slightly unfair just how much he was chewed up and spat out as a result of that NYJ spell. Vikings busted my acca!
Why on earth would you back the Falcons? Cousins earning $90m this year Need the Chargers and Buccs to win my acca
It’s always hard with QBs who are drafted early. Clearly have talent to get taken high, but usually end up in a bad situation because the team taking them are terrible. The classic is Trubisky and Mahomes, trubisky went no 2 to an awful Bears team and flopped whilst Mahomes went to a half decent Chiefs team (at the time) and is now the best player in the league. If you swap them over in terms of where they got drafted things could look differently. Maybe Trubisky became a decent starter if he went to the Chiefs and Mahomes ended up as a decent starter at the Bears but not the level he is now. Most QBs taken high end up as busts, and I think that’s mainly to do with the team they are drafted by rather than their own talent
Looks an awful, awful decision. The Cousins contract and Penix draft was weird at the time and, although early days, isn't looking much better with time. I tend to have a treble on the 6pm games, a treble on the 9pm games and then a TD treble, when I fancy a bet on the NFL on a Sunday night 6pm treble was: Bears, Dolphins, Giants TD treble was: Allen, Hill, Mixon 9pm treble is: Chargers, Cowboys, Seahawks Thankfully the TD treble has left me nicely up regardless of the other two
Cousins agent is an absolute genius. He has earned more than any other QB in history and has 1 playoff win in his entire career. The Penix selection was very weird, if he sits and learns behind Cousins for the duration of his contract then he will only have a year left on his rookie contract, which is the best thing about rookie quarter backs, and you possibly get the Love situation the Packers have where he looks good for 1 year and he gets paid massively whilst still not being at all proven. I do sort of get why the Falcons went for Cousins, they do have a good team everywhere else except QB and he was probably the best they could get, but at the same time they had the 8th pick and it would’ve been a better option imo to just sacrifice the next couple of drafts to get Maye/Daniels and move up in last years draft. Cousins benefits just like he did when the Vikings got him in free agency where a team has all the pieces for a Super Bowl run except QB and he is the best veteran option. Unfortunately he is exceptionally average and hasn’t got the “X Factor” to win the big games and appears to be very much focused on himself than winning Happy my acca won though, asking for a price on Saints breaking Derbys record and putting all the winnings on that
So, Tagovailoa has suffered another concussion. I think that's 3 now he has been diagnosed with in his NFL career - that is worrying.
I’m sure there was talk a little while ago that he would retire if he got another concussion, or be advised to at least by doctors. I think he got his first two very quickly and pretty much as back to back as you can get, so maybe not having one for a season or so changes things
Yeah been well on top, should be 3 scores up. Think they’ll live to regret not being, huge momentum shift incoming after that
