We needed a clinical goal scorer in the January window when Aaron and Matty, bought to do that, we're not. We all know that Billy Sharp might have been the player to do that but that opportunity was lost. Even if we make the playoffs getting to the premier league would not be the best thing for us this season. We have a good side, very young admittedly, who can play decent football and if kept together could be a premier team. But we still need a goal scorer and a decent footballing surface to play on.
But you have just said we can get some new players in the Summer so therefore if we go up we can still get new players and hopefully not get tonked every week
Another consideration is that our parachute payments halve this summer. If we're going to do what Bolton did, and what West Brom have done more recently we need to go up this season. Even if we come back down we'll be back on full parachute payments and be able to hold on to a stronger squad to go up again.
Yes. Sadly automatic promotion is now a No No. Even with my optimistic view that road has now been closed after saturdays results. Play-Offs it now is then. 2 wins and we are back on track. Could be forth by saturday night as well.

The way other results are going at the moment YES I WILL.!!! But i dont think we shall lose.. 2 wins this week and we are very much back on track.
It's not over until it's mathematically impossible, but seeing how we seem to be getting even more rubbish by the game it's becoming more and more unlikely by the game. However form always ends whether it's good or bad and seeing how we've been on a poor run for quite some time let's hope it turns around sooner rather than later. With the 2 bottom placed sides coming up its a golden opportunity to turn it around and if we can pick up some form and go on a 5/6/7 or even 8 game run I think well comfortably make it, as I believe 6 of our remaining 8 are bottom half teams, we shouldn't really be saying 'could' but rather 'should'. As it is I'm trying to settle for a top 10 finish but sub consciously I know it's easily possible and we should make the playoffs.
