Oh dear my prediction of Woy as DOF could well happen then I just hope and pray my other prediction of Irvine as team mangager doesn't come true as well
See post #5535 http://www.not606.com/threads/general-football-thread.308147/page-277#post-10335696 I CAN see it happening!!!
What I don't get is why the urgency to sack AN on the Friday night, when for all intensive purposes it's too late to change things for the Saturday game and a new manager signing isn't imminent. It would have been much better (& classy) to delay the announcement until after the game.
Heard a rumour yesterday that Pearce was seen at Sprowston Manor and is allegedly due talks with the club. Not sure what to make of that idea.
I don't like the idea and I'm just concerned that we're going to end up with Woy as DoF and Irvine as manager as KIO says. If that happened then there's NO way I'd renew my ST whilst they're in charge!!!
I imagine his relative success with the England U21's could be appealing to the board as they look to get more of our academy products into the first team, but his spell in charge of Forest doesn't really suggest he'd be a sound appointment at this level. I think it'd be a somewhat underwhelming appointment, and if we're to go for someone without great experience of the championship, I'd rather we look to somebody making waves at a lower level or overseas. Admittedly I'm short of suggestions as to who.
DH - like you, I'm at a loss as to who to suggest for manager and IMO, as a result of our Board's record this season with the appointment/parting of ways with Poxey and the timing of the sacking of AN, I can't see that 'up and coming' managers are going 'to beating a path' to CR!!! Suffolk - I've heard worse suggestions!!!
Thing is, if we didn't sack him and then the team goes out and wins 5-1 again. Could they then sack him? The board would have us believe that it was a scheduled meeting and as such the best oportunity to discuss the managers position. I would say, if they were all thinking that way then surely a meeting would have been convened straight after either the SW debacle or the Bristol failure and the job done. Surely waiting til the day before a game with it in mind that they might well sack him would be very foolish (Very believeable of our board granted!)? I am with the the more conspitiorial group. Something changed, be that; a slagging match between Delia/AN? his stance on some senior players/deadwood/Delia favourites? his earlier press conference? Delia got out of the wrong side of bed that morning? A penny finally dropped? Again by sacking him and seemingly having no replacement lined up, it would indicate to me that there was very little fore thought to it, once again for me pointing to an incident that led to a spontenious sacking that went against their longer term goal to keep him another 7 3/4 years. Bah!
Please god no! He only stayed at Forest as long as he did on sentiment. OK so I would have him ahead of; Giggs, Gerrard & Huckerby, on experience grounds but I don't think hes a very good manager Bah!
https://www.clubcall.com/norwich-city/nigel-pearson-wants-to-be-next-norwich-manager-1845224.html Foxtrot Oscar!!!!
I saw that rumor on Twitter yesterday. He's the kind of person with passion and love of the game, who could get the team playing. He likes youth players, and managing Eng U21's is a good thing for our academy. But what was his last club job? I think he did well in charge at Man City. Since then, I'm not sure he's impressed?
He did well at Man Citeh, he was ousted by the crooked Thai politician who wanted a big-name manager, ie. Sven-Goran Erickson (sp)
