Of the 'old guard', canario, I'd only expect Howson, Tettey, and possibly Hoolahan to be starting many matches (assuming they stay on). Howson is likely to be a regular starter again next season, but the others less so. Martin will be seen as reasonable cover at both RB and CB (where he'll probably be 4th choice). Tettey will have competition from Thompson and a new DM if we recruit one (given that Dorrans can also play beside Howson). Though not 'old guard', Oliveira and Jerome will probably share the demanding role of sole striker, but with Oliveira featuring more than he has done this season, though that could depend on whoever comes in to replace Lafferty.
How are these idiots allowed to call themselves journalists? Michael O'Neil has admitted we have not approached him with a job offer and he wouldn't want it anyway! So this idiot says we have been knocked back in our apoproach for him! https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/norwich-city-knocked-back-in-their-pursuit-of-top-summer-target/
I think that depends on how much you regard 'bloggers' as journalists, Dave. They have to keep spinning out stories to satisfy their advertisers. I'd have thought Radio Norfolk would be better than that though, Gandy. Fings ain't what they used to be!
So did we - or didn't we? Auntie Beeb hasn't got a clue! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/norwich-city
Nigel Clough has done well on a limited budget for Burton. Who manages Peterborough or Col U.... any good lol
From an article in today's EDP website - "Irvine is not in contention for the head coach vacancy at Carrow Road, but the former West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday chief is not ruling out a return to the hot seat elsewhere." I won't be 100% convinced until the new HC is revealed though!!!! Full article here - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...enge-if-norwich-city-cut-him-adrift-1-5005604
I don't know why, but I've a feeling that SW is going to surprise us all when he FINALLY appoints our new HC!!!!
See post #5977 on http://www.not606.com/threads/general-football-thread.308147/page-299#post-10514942.
I'd hardly call getting unfancied Fleetwood into the playoffs a failure, FML. I wouldn't be surprised if Rosler is on the shortlist, but we'll have to wait and see.
Excerpt from a PD article after talking with SW - “I fully expect in two to three weeks we will be in a position to do something,” said Webber. “That is the timeframe we gave ourselves and that is what we are working towards. It allows us to speak to people more formally now. We have to respect the fact European leagues are still going, domestic leagues, in terms of play-offs, are still going, and although it would be nice to crack on with it we had to respect the fact there are clubs out there who are now at key stages of their seasons. I don’t think we can overlook leagues abroad. Look at the top five or six in the Championship this season and they are foreign coaches. We would be stupid not to embrace that. They are all different clubs and do it in different ways. It doesn’t mean we will, but a club of our size has to be open-minded to find the best candidate." Edit - My money is on someone foreign being appointed as HC and I don't think it will be Rossler!!
I really do like Webber, he comes across as a realist and I think speaks very intelligently. I have to admit I completely agree with him over Irvine's comments over the weekend. Interesting notes from a squad point of view...Dijks wants to stay but is potentially too expensive for us, Hoolahan provides valuable experience and is likely to stay. Perhaps we could go for another loan deal with Dijks.
