If we wait too long the job will become hopeless and totally unattractive to any potential manager. Jewell should be clearing his desk now and I can not for the life of me understand the arguement that we should give him more time! We have had enough of his rank incompetence and we cant afford to piss about any longer. We need an experienced head to come in and steady the ship over the next couple of years before we think about a young up coming manager. Pragmatism over style i'm afraid but its better than stumbling from one crisis to another. McCarthy will be a solid appointment and one that I would be very pleased with! <ok>

At a Chelsea vs Wolves match some time in the past:

Chelsea fan: "Mick McCarthy, what's the score? Mick McCarthy, what's the score?"
Mick McCarthy: "It's 3 - 0. Now **** off you ****!"

How can you not employ this man?

I’ve just been having a swift butchers at the League Managers Association website where they have a drop down list of available managers (this ignores any non-England based blokes, but I’m fed up with arguing the potential virtues of them) and of all names, I’m willing to wager ME and his merry advisors would have: Peter Reid, Gareth Southgate and Dennis Wise earmarked.

If you leave out the ones who wouldn’t come here if you paid them (which we’d obviously be doing but you know what I mean) like ‘arry, Keegan, Benitez etc, the LMA list includes:-

Curbs
Billy Davies
Glen Hoddle
Paul Ince
Mick McCarthy
Lawrie Sanchez
Graham Souness
Gianluca Vialli
Ray Wilkins

…and various others.

Obviously not listing potentially poachable managers here. The LMA list is unemployed welfare dependent bloodsuckers only. (I jape, itfcptc, I merely jape).

No mention of the likes of BFJ and George Graham (who knows how to organise a defence and buy potential, by the way) so perhaps they’re out of the loop.

I merely put this forward to highlight the options.
