While he has to take a lot of blame for recent results, I would prefer to see the club bring in the players to adequately play the style of football he wants to play. We need some dangerous wingers with a bit of pace, an attacking midfielder who can actually create for our striker and chip in with goals too.
Pressure is mounting on social media. The boos today are the start, it won't take long for momentum to shift and the crowd to turn
I'll add to this. That Cardiff team and that Luton side both committed to playing long and being defensively solid. Big target men up front, quality crossers in wide areas, energetic ball winners in midfield and solid 'head first' centre backs. For me, we're kind of stuck in between styles. Our squad is built to dominate the ball, i'll even give Roberts some leeway here (I know, shocking) as he's clearly not suited to being a winger who plays in transition. We definitely can't play RLBs counter attacking style with ELF and Roberts wide.
I've never been enamoured with him and I think his interviews are crap so don't listen, I will say though that I still wouldn't call him as he's done a decent job after last years catastrophe and his first year in England. I also wouldn't be upset if he wasn't here next season
For all I'm not happy with the massive decline, or the weird team selections, I think RLB deserves at least to start next season as manager whether we go up or not. I can see the owners having a similar view considering who we finished behind in the league. However...start badly next season and I don't think he will last long.
Sorry but I think calling for RLB to be sacked is utter boollocks. He’s done brilliant in his first season in English football and has massively improved our position from the sorry state we were in last year. I also think he talks a lot of sense in interviews but each to their own. Ripping it up and starting again isn’t the answer despite a recent decline in form. Just remember the only decline is from his own exceptional standards not a decline from previous setups.
Managers who failed to make the playoffs ... Mark Robins Michael Carrick Alex Neil Tony Mowbray Tom Cleverley Rob Edwards Etc
I'm sure his target for the start of the season was qualifying for the play offs. SUCCESS So why all the ****ing negativity towards him, he did that with 6 games to go
Very true, but expectations change do they not? Remember, KLD and KS were extremely close to replacing Mowbray and he absolutely smashed expectations that season.
How come, we finished top of the non parachute payment table by seven points, just a couple of years after being in league one, brilliant achievement, get a grip ffs and stop belittling the club
The one line that sums up our fan base these days It’s like saying ‘oh we used to be ****e so whatever happens now is fine’ RLB has done okay but brilliant? Not having it. It’s been atrocious to watch for large parts too
What I want to see is year on year improvement. Last year we didn’t see it. This year we’re back on track.
I’m fairly certain he’s only on here just to cause trouble, I don’t care what anyone else thinks, nothing else makes sense.
As Rooch mentioned, LD posts to cause trouble, this time with derogatory comments about older people (yet again) and even calling one good poster 'backward' so I've banned him from this thread . . . . and if this continues on other threads similar decisions will have to be made.
I have no problem with criticism at all, it’s the sheer nastiness of it that gets me. It’s not normal for someone who loves the club.
