It's all bullshit in order for bet365 to make more money! The punters make him favourite not the club!
@FootyBull: Apparently Stoke have contacted Mark Hughes about their managerial vacancy. They wanted to know if he's got Roberto Martinez's phone number.
Benitez has not signed on for Napoli and will be back in the UK this weekend. Watch this space Rafa is ours!!!!
Well I'm off to France this morning Waddo, let's hope that when we get home, some good news is waiting for me! See you all next weekend Pott's
I'd like to think so, Waddo, but I can't see it happening. Benitez would be looking to win trophies and to manage a team in Champions/Europa League IMO. I would also take Martinez together with a defensive coach to move Stoke forward.
done deal so instead of moaning stoke fans should get behind Hughes 100% now......he may do ok who knows..
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/next-stoke-manager-split-among-1911332? Stoke are split over who they want to succeed Tony Pulis as manager. Pulis was sacked last week and the Potters are now in the process of finding a new man. But we can reveal there are huge differences of opinion over who the new boss should be. John Coates, son of Stoke chairman Peter, is likely to get the casting vote as he is expected to take over the running of the club in the future. Free agent Mark Hughes, Wigan’s Roberto Martinez, Cardiff’s Malky Mackay, Gus Poyet of Brighton and Arsenal assistant manager Steve Bould have all been discussed, but a clear front runner is yet to emerge. Chief executive Tony Scholes, the club’s technical director Mark Cartwright and head of finance Martin Goodman are thought to be pushing the case of Hughes, even though he was sacked in November by QPR, who went on to suffer relegation from the Premier League. There are fears elsewhere inside the club over whether Hughes is the right man and how the fans would react to such an appointment, but the Welshman is set for a formal interview this week. Martinez is emerging as the favourite for the Everton job and is expected to talk to the Toffees... but the Spaniard is also interested in the Stoke post. Poyet has his support, but the Stoke board have concerns over the suspended Brighton boss’s top-flight credentials. Mackay, meanwhile, is also yet to test himself in the Premier League, but he has won admirers for guiding Cardiff to promotion from the Championship. Bould is admired by those involved in the decision-making process, but Peter Coates is believed to be wary of going for somebody with no full management experience. As we revealed in April, Stoke want a manager who can work closely with the club’s Academy and operate with Cartwright to find better value in the transfer market.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ghes-Malky-Mackay-Tony-Pulis-replacement.html Stoke are expected this week to move closer towards appointing their new manager following the departure of Tony Pulis last week. Former Manchester City, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is the leading contender and is rated highly by Stoke chairman Peter Coates. But negotiations with Hughes, 49, are currently at an early stage and Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay may be seen as a cheaper option to the Welshman. Mackay has impressed with the way he led Cardiff to promotion, despite the clubâs Malaysian owners risking unrest among supporters by changing the club colours from blue to red.
Martin O`Neil guided Leicester City to the Football League Cup final three times, in which he was twice victorious, in 1997 and 2000. In his time as Celtic manager between 2000 and 2005, he led the club to three Scottish Premier League titles and the 2003 UEFA Cup Final in Seville.
Wouldn't mind Mackay, definitely an improvement on Hughes! My list: 1. Benitez 2. Di Matteo 3. Martinez 4. Malkay 5. Poyet 1000000. Hughes
