    Chadli is crap.

Paulinho has potential to be an important player but currently his touch is poor. He has poor control and vision is lacking. If it wasn't for his knack of being in the right place for shots on goal then in all honesty he would be viewed as fairly standard. I'm ignoring his poor form as I believe it's mostly down to getting to grips with the English game.

    Chadli is crap.

Eriksen is............ a superb talent. Great vision. Creative. Positive. Always looking to set up moves. BUT is still inconsistent yet I would hope he will gain consistency from playing each week

    Chadli is crap.

Soldado is clearly a talent. Confident in his game. Cool from the penalty spot. But I worry about his work off the ball and we're not playing to his strengths yet.

    Chadli is crap.

Lamela. Capoue and Vlad I'll comment on fully after Xmas but I believe Lamela has the potential to be our best signing along with Eriksen.

    Paulinho
Positives: Much-needed dynanism in central midfield, can score goals
Negatives: Poor first touch, fades in games
    Verdict: HIT

    Chadli
Positives: Can chip in with goals
Negatives: Already the new kicking post for fans
    Verdict: MISS

    Soldado
Positives: Looked dynamic in pre-season, good all-round game
Negatives: Better suited to balls from the wing rather than through the middle
Verdict: BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT FOR NOW

    CAPOUE
Positives: One-man force field in midfield, gives license to others to roam
    Negatives: None
    Verdict: HIT

    LAMELA
Positives: Showed glimpses of what he can do
Negatives: Glimpses don't win games, needs more game time than he's had
Verdict: BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT FOR NOW

    ERIKSEN
Positives: Capable of defence-splitting passes, an eye for goal, set piece delivery seems good
    Negatives: NONE
    Verdict: HIT

    CHIRICHES
Positives: Proved that The FA play favourites when it comes to work permits, seemed to improve against Anzhi
Negatives: Suspect passing, dire against Villa
    Verdict: MISS

Japanese keyboards can't type English for too long, so I end up forcing them to type English characters in the Japanese script with randomly bashing the shift and caps lock keys. At least it isn't randomly breaking out in kanji...

For obvious reasons only see the team live at Cardiff.

Agreed that CE looks the best of the bunch. As for Paulinho fading who was it that got forward to get the final touch at Cardiff?

Only seen Chiriches and Chadli on the tv at Anzhi. While Chadli scored he didn't do much else. I have severe doubts about him.

Chiriches showed useful signs albeit against a third rate team but still dropped a couple of gloopers that may well have been punished in the Prem. However he showed signs that he could be a good asset in the future.

I had concerns that the whole team were woeful in the second half at Anzhi. Looked like that spirit of mediocrity carried through to the WHU game.

Lamela looks like he has the potential to be a show pony. Obviously very skillful but needs to be more direct, show a bit of urgency and get at his marker.

Soldado looks a bit of an enigma. I expected more from him. However, HBIC made a useful point about him needing service from the wings. The new wingers and Townsend are played off their wrong feet, left on right and vice versa so no one is getting down the wing and banging hard crosses from the byline. It is the same when Gylfi plays from the left.

When will Lennon be fit and back playing? It will be hard to dislodge Townsend at present especially after his England performance. However Lennon will give an option and variety if played on the right. I think Soldado will have many more opportunities once he gets in partnership with Lennon.

Way too early to be judging anyone.

Some of them have started 2 games, Judge at the end of the season.

Of course it's too early to make definitive judgments--but that makes it more interesting to try.

While Paulinho has been poor at times, and shoots too much, I've seen enough of him to see why Brazil thinks he's world class. He can control a game with his ball-winning and dribbling and seems to be doing all the getting forward and scoring so far this year along with Gylfi.

I agree about Soldado. He scored most of his goals last year from volleys, few of them with his head. The ideal setup would be a team that gets down the field fast and centers frequently and low. We're zero for three. I'm actually pleased he's been able to contribute with bits of skill in creating goals. Lennon would seem the player to get him service, but are we going to drop Townsend?

I'm worried about where Lamela will play. Townsend looks too useful to drop, and Eriksen and Holtby look to have a stranglehold on CM.

Capoue looked fantastic against Palace--but it was one game before he got hurt. That's really little to go on.

I can't see blaming Chiriches for being thrown in with zero experience at anything Spurs-related against Anzhi. He impressed me with a couple of dribbles and should be very good once he learns who his teammates are. Any chance of him trying to play at fullback?

I am wondering if Townsend could play on the left? Then Lennon or lamela on the right? Would teach him to cross and soldado would get more service...

After Capoues performance against Palace he was evalated to superstar status. Didn't someone create a poster type image with stats on his interceptions. Was we meant to be blown away.

Townsend is settled and kicking on as a player so I'll like to see him and Lennon compete for the right wing as how often have we said 'Lennon has no competition'. Now he does so let's see how he reacts!

Capoue was only a sub at Palace, when he came on he looked really good though baring in mind it was his debut and he'd only been at the club a week. Against Swansea he was MOTM and he was solid against Tbilisi away too. Looked ok against Arsenal prior to his injury.

Think he probably settled the best out of any of the new signings. Eriksen second, Paulinho third.

I'm hoping Eriksen starts being a regular scorer in the league. A lot of expectations as he started so well but he seems to to have dropped off a tad which is is expected yet out of all our signings we need the creative talent like Eriksen and Lamela to shine.
