If he's the leader of a large political party he's probably a lying weasel.

I don't like the bloke as he reminds me of a Librarian but I won't sing a song about a made up man in the sky protecting the biggest welfare cheat in the UK. She's got enough tax payer money to save herself.

    Someone ****ing save me.

If Ireland ever does get united not only will it be a massive betrayal of the loyalists of the North but also every soldier who died over there trying to keep two sets of bastards apart.
They have relative peace there now, it's best left alone. Let them live their lives.
    Let sleeping dogs lie.

Politicians are putting so much emphasis on benefits at the minute, the vast majority of those I know couldn't give two ****s! It's the working class that needs to be supported, and even these lefties have completely missed that.

Though not for a republican holding to his beliefs. One of his own front bench MPs on Radio 4 (this morning / yesterday morning? - I've had a busy day!) came out with a very unpolitician-like answer and said he was totally wrong not to sing!

well he will need to kneel before the queen, kiss her hand and speak an oath so he can go to the Privy Council. Otherwise he will miss out on all the secret stuff that privy council members are, well, privy to.

I'm not a fan of Corbyn, but this over the top crap about not singing the national anthem is crazy.. I would expect this type of persecution in North Korea for not paying homage to a head of state by singing, but not in the UK..

The points I heard being made yesterday is that its a National Anthem, not specifically an anthem for the queen and on that basis he should sing it out of respect for the nation, not for the queen. Its just unfortunate that that's how our National Anthem starts. There's a million verses after that if anyone gives a monkey's....

    verse 6.

    Lord grant that Marshal Wade
    May by thy mighty aid
    Victory bring.
    May he sedition hush,
    And like a torrent rush,
    Rebellious Scots to crush.
    God save the Queen!

How did that get past the racist PC hand wringers?

Have to say, as a devils advocate, it's not an anthem to unite the British people but to divide us. Cromwell would not have sung it, yet he is a hero to many, his statue stands at Parliament, he modernised our Army and gave the common people, for a short while, a voice.
Personally I would prefer 'Land of Hope and Glory' or 'Jerusalem' as the English national anthem, then again the latter would I suppose, cause further division:emoticon-0102-bigsm
