See I don’t normally wish that on anyone. Not even Darren Bent. But Rodwell I absolutely wish it on. Hope he doesn’t earn another penny from football
Anybody know if anything’s happening with O’Video? With him not featuring last night I think we all fear the worst. He’s one I’d love to keep, the others I’m not bothered about. Hopefully he’s got a slight injury and can return about September 1st. when the widow is closed.
Ross said he picked up a knock and wasn't ready for Gillingham or possibly the next game and while it's true he did get one against Scunthorpe, that's exactly the kind of cover story that they roll out when a player is about to be sold and it's decided that they won't play in the meantime. In summary I dunno. Would deffo like him to stay, although he has to be the most saleable player we have out of the ones we might sell. If Pap and Ndong had shown the same professionalism they might have already had their moves.
Sunderland may still see some of their players leave the Stadium of Light this summer as the transfer window remains open across Europe. And, one of those players that could leave is Robbin Ruiter, with Voetabl International claiming the goalkeeper is wanted by NAC Breda. The Dutch outfit are thought to have listed the shot-stopper as a possible target following Manchester City’s decision to recall Aro Muric following their own crisis. Ruiter has not featured for the Black Cats since January, although that is largely down to a serious injury, however, he has not been chosen by Jack Ross just yet. Rated at £1.8m with 9 months left on his contract, so he could be sold if we brought in a loan keeper and promoted Strygek (spelling)
Any chance of a goal yet off this Sinclair lad ? Maja has it in him, got my doubts still on this lad ......
Bit tricky to score from the physio treatment room fella He’s just got back from injury It was subbing him on that changed the charlton game
Have Portsmouth just left Sunderland free to sign Jayden Stockley? League One title chasers Sunderland and Portsmouth have both been linked with January deals to sign Exeter City striker Jayden Stockley. With Jayden Stockley in the form of his life, it was only a matter of time before the Exeter City talisman started to attract interest from clubs higher up the Football League. Stockley has scored 16 times in 24 League Two starts, including a hat-trick against Yeovil Town in December. The Mirror (2nd January, page 45) has reported that a Sunderland side who have been heavily tipped to sign a striker in January are challenging League One title rivals Portsmouth for his signature. Jack Ross’ Black Cats appear to have been handed a major boost in pursuit of the 25-year-old Stockley . . . . speaking to The News, Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett has indicated that he could leave Sunderland free to sign one of the most prolific centre-forwards in English football right now. "We haven’t made an approach for him (Stockley) - he’s not one that we are looking at,” Jackett said. With a release clause of just £750,000 in his contract, Stockley could prove to be a bargain signing for a Sunderland side who are hoping that their spell in the third tier of English football is a short one. However . . . . Preston have activated the release clause of Exeter striker Jayden Stockley, according to Sky sources. The 25-year-old has enjoyed a prolific season so far, and is currently the top scorer in Sky Bet League Two, having netted 16 goals in 25 matches. He scored more goals than any other player in the top four English divisions in 2018, with 32 to his name. It is understood that Preston have triggered his £750,000 buyout fee and will now hold talks with him, but Preston face competition from Exeter's League Two rivals MK Dons - managed by former Grecians boss Paul Tisdale - who have also met the release clause.
