We will but it will be a pittance. Unless of course we turn down decent offers in which case the Tribunal have something to guide them in their decision so you get a bit more.
Just with the Rodwell thing, I don’t want anymore sulky players who think they are too good for the club. Lots of new faces coming in is great, really looking forward to seeing a new team with a real desire to pull on the shirt
Yeah there was a precedence set for that I think with Ings wasn't it? Turned down an offer of £8m or something so the tribunal set the fee at around that! Not that I expect an offer of £8m to come in - personally I'd prefer to see them signed up - pretty much as most others would! BUt failing the ability to secure a deal, stick a £5m price tag on them both and be done with it
Not a chance we get 5m through tribunal for either of them mind. Asoro has played about a dozen pro games and while he has promise, he hasn't set the world alight. Maja is less developed again. Need them nailing down to new contracts and putting straight into the team. If they can't hack it in league 1 this year they're not going to have the sparkling careers we'd all hoped.
Yeah I know - that's why I think if we get that sort of offer we have to accept it so set a price tag on them this season of £5m - if someone offers £3.5m then the tribunal will use that as a benchmark for the end of contract fee. Agree mind I think they need games - Asoro's agent has said he didn't like something that has happened to him at the club - Donald wants to kn ow what it is but hasn't been told - sounds to me like an agent making excuses for their player! As you say get them tied down to 5 year deals - add some non promotion release clause or premier league offer release clauses and be done with it. As you say, if they can't hack league 1 then they won't make it. I think Asoro will make it undoubtedly - seen the ability and confidence he has on the ball. Great football brain too. Maja I'm not so sure about. Took his goal very well last season used his strength to buffer the defender and was a great bit of football. Didn't show much after that IMO. Still only a young lad though and this league could be great for him
Didn’t we take both from elsewhere too late anyway, so the tribunal fee would be shared? Be a pittance for either.
Cant help wondering whether the people who have signed for us only did so cos they knew we were going on a jolly up to Portugal this week
Since it was revealed that Preston North End were willing to listen to offers for his services, Eoin Doyle has regularly been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light, and according to the Irish Sun, Sunderland have a lot of competition for his signature. The report claims that Charlton Athletic have joined Scunthorpe United and Fleetwood Town in the chase for the Irish striker. The 30-year-old has struggled to find the back of the net for Preston in the Championship, but his recent spells at League One level have been nothing short of prolific, with 35 goals and 10 assists coming in just 56 appearances in that division. He notched 14 goals (with six assists) while on loan at Oldham last season, and during the 2014-15 season he scored 21 goals in just 26 games for Chesterfield.

Without bids we'll be very lucky to get 750k for each, however, the tribunal will award us a % next time they're sold. If we turn down bid the tribunal will award close to the top bid.
Obviously we'd like to give them a contract. They've had the offers on the table a while. There's a massive chance they won't even sign so tieing them down may not be an option. If they don't sign and we get some decent bids we can keep them this season and play em, we may get a better offer in Jan, or a Promotion may keep them happy enough to stay on. But at least we'll have a bid history to fall back on. If we get poor bids and they won't sign, well, that's a bit of a pickle init.
https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...ikers-1-9236608/amp?__twitter_impression=true Sunderland are weighing up moves for TWO Championship strikers as they look to add more firepower to their squad. The Black Cats are monitoring Preston North End frontman Eoin Doyle and Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings. please log in to view this image Jason Cummings had a spell on loan at Rangers The pair, who both sprang to prominence at Hibernian, have both been linked with Sunderland with manager Jack Ross keen to strengthen his frontline. [iframe src="https://tpc.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-29/html/container.html?n=0" name="1-0-29;12150; Sunderland are also monitoring Cummings' situation at Nottingham Forest. The ex-Hibs forward was scouted by the Black Cats under David Moyes, but missed out on the player last summer when he signed for Forest. That move turned sour, however, and Cummings spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers. The Gers are understood to be keen on another year-long loan deal for the Scotland international, who has been told he has no future at Forest under boss Aitor Karanka.
Khazri close to the exit door. Looks like Rennes have met our valuation and offered him better terms than St Ettiene
http://www.wearewearside.com/articl...-khazri-finally-been-agreed-with-fee-revealed Sunderland and Saint-Etienne have finally reached agreement over the transfer of attacking midfielder Wahbi Khazri according to reports in France. French newspaper L'Equipe suggest Les Verts will pay €7m with a potential further €3m off add-ons. Fresh from the World Cup, the report suggests the 27-year-old will sign a four-year contract with the side who finished seventh in Ligue 1 last season. Khazri scored a couple of goals and provided two assists during the group stages of the tournament in Russia but couldn't fire Tunisia into the knock-out stages. Khazri spent last season on loan at Stade Rennais and enjoyed a successful stint with the Brittany-based outfit. Rennes qualified for the Europa League as the Sunderland-owned man scored 9 goals in France's top division. The Tunisian was signed by Sam Allardyce for Sunderland in January 2016 and after a successful initial period as Big Sam kept the side up, his spell became increasingly frustrating under David Moyes. Khazri only started seven games as the Black Cats were relegated from the Premier League and after featuring in last summer's pre-season games under Simon Grayson, the Corsican-born player departed on loan towards the end of the transfer window. The report in L'Equipe suggests Khazri will earn a gross €4m a year with Saint-Etienne, the equivalent of around £60,000-a-week. That's a huge salary for a French club to be paying. Les Verts have perhaps made room in their wage bill by off-loading former Sunderland midfielder Yann M'Vila. The French midfielder is reportedly on the verge of signing for Crystal Palace, though Fulham have also been credited with an interest. M'Vila played in the same Sunderland side as Khazri under Allardyce and became a firm favourite on Wearside during his loan spell from Russian outfit Rubin Kazan. The 28-year-old joined Saint-Etienne last summer.
Alan nixon “Wigan. Will have chance to do McManaman on loan now. If they still want to do it.” Even though he's only got one year left? Aye, righto
Easy way to get rid of some wages? It'd be effectively cancelling his contract so not that far fetched.
Derby County have made a move for Sunderland striker Joel Asoro – and they hope to beat Arsenal to his signature, according to TEAMtalk sources. The Gunners have tried to Swedish starlet Asoro this summer along with fellow countryman Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka, who is also part of the Stadium of Light youth set-up. ADVERTISING TEAMtalk understands Arsenal are still keen on the pair, but new Derby boss Frank Lampard is hoping the prospect of first-team action under him at Pride Park could win the day. Asoro, 19, has one-year left on his current deal at Sunderland and he has already told the Championship he will not be signing a new contract. The Sunderland Echo claimed the Gunners were lining up a £5million bid for Asoro and Kimpioka. And the player himself confirmed Arsenal’s interest in him last summer. “People were a little shocked because I have played very little first-team football,” Asoro told the Daily Express. I think we should keep hold of him.
Yes we should Dorset, but these modern day footballers if they want to go or haven't the stomach for a virtually guaranteed first team spot albeit in Div 1 then he'll be gone as fast as he can pack his bags.
Let the bidding war commence, if his head is turned, sell him to Arsenal or highest bidder with a decent sell on clause then loan him back for this season.
