I'm not even sure that would have been the best way to approach it, Lidls. Where was your creativity? Who was supposed to be pulling the strings in the middle of the park? I know that your fans don't really rate him, but Carrick would have been ideal, in my opinion. No idea why Park didn't start, either. Perhaps Ferguson has failed to replace Scholes?
No. I think that fourth is a realistic aim and I've yet to see anything to suggest that we should be adjusting up or down, so far. That we're still in touch despite our largely unreported injury problems and our disrupted start is a very good sign, though. Sneijder might not be the answer to your problem, in my opinion. He plays further forward, in a role similar to van der Vaart and I think that you need a deeper playmaker. What's happened to Carrick?
I don't think he's a closet Spurs fan, but it is abundantly clear that (a) he admires us tremendously, and (b) finds our banter far better than that on any other board. I, for one, would not wish to denigrate Little Luke for either or those.
I'd say part of what happened yesterday was the bell tolling on Rio Ferdinand's career at the highest level. Not only was he out of position or too slow to stop just about anything that came his way, he failed to lead by example of shake some sense into the defence around him at any point. If they had Vidic and Jones at the back from the start, they would've been far more solid, far more composed, and far more orginised. *cough*said that already*cough*
Anybody know (Luke?) why Fergie persists with Evans? I've never rated him - yesterday was far from the first time he's been found out. Is he Fergie's nephew or something?
He's the new O'Shea. He'd be a good player at a mid-table team, but at a top team he's below standard. Ferguson is being stubborn in saying he'll improve, even when he's bought in Smalling and Jones to basically say that he won't.
O'shea could always be relied on though, he wouldn't win games for you but he was a solid performer. Contrast that to Evans who seems a liability a lot of the time. Squad players are actually very important to a manger and Evans isn't pulling his weight as one at the moment.
Well, you certainly got the recipe spot on, yesterday! I just watched the first half, as I had to go out. From what I saw, City defended very well - Utd didn't.
I see the thread has turned into another yarn of woe from poor ol Luke! Back to Suarez, apart from diving and racism, lets not forget blatant handball, denying Ghana there place in the WC semi's. Dirty cheat of player a allround...loves it in Ledley Kings back pocket though! In the OP's first link, Kenny's face...looks like he's just been told his misses is being humped by the gardener!
I think that Suarez is an exceptionally talented striker and his all-round game is very impressive, but he's was virtually non-existent against us in both games since he joined Liverpool. Whether that was down to poor tactics or not is something that Liverpool fans would be better equipped to answer, in my opinion.
Dalglish is getting caned for the Norwich game for bringing on Carroll after withdrawing Downing and Bellamy, i.e. the wide players who oculd aim crosses at his head for the last ten minutes in a game they were looking to score a winner.
And from what I've seen in our league I'd disagree with exceptional, not much better than Defoe for me so far. Suffers from a lack of strength, he's feeble and easily shoved out the away...ask Ledders!
Suarez seems extremely lightweight considering he spends most of the time rolling around on the floor...
