The Cirkin lad (LB) rumoured to be coming in from Spurs is meant to be very good. They've allegedly asked for both a buyback and sell-on clause in his contract so clearly Spurs hierarchy rate him too. Bodes well.

now the rumour is he won't be coming here, much like the rest of the defenders we have been apparently linked with.

problem being, the club is keeping very tight-lipped over transfers, the usual 'ITK's' are not getting the info so we tend to be seeing a lot of players linked...once the link has run for a week or so a new rumour appears that we dropped out/player chose elsewhere/going over his options, the three we have brought in so far i can't remember them being mentioned a lot before the deal was done.

Exactly, LJ has stated it’s quality over quantity this time round and as you say up to now the signings look promising.
With all the injuries we had last season it shows we need quality in depth.

It will be great having quality full backs right up to the time they collect an injury and are ruled out for a month or so. Then, without quality cover we are back to Saturday and the opposition attacking that position.

Does any club make a meal of transfers as much as we do? We seem to let all our rivals know exactly who we are in for, at least a week before they sign.

To be fair, its the way KLD did the takeover. Very little came out, and what did our ITKs, such as Magnus and Prehab, shared what they could, but it was very tightly controlled. I think they want tight control on what comes out of the club, which will really piss off some journos and a section of our fans. But, to me at least, it's a massive improvement on stuff being leaked so everyone else knew our business.

don't take that the wrong way mind, i am pleased the way things are going at the club...there is absolutely no reason that the rest of the world needs to know our business, it is all the non stop rumours that is driving people up the wall along with the pretend ITK's desperate for attention, i can still remember the first thing we knew about a new player was either 10 seconds on look north or when he showed up at the ground afore kick off.

Club call of ceefax ;)

Like who?

No one knew we were in for Pritchard or Evans and Doyle’s name was only mentioned a few days before he signed.

I knew about Pritchard and Evans about a week before the signed. Doyle was one that came of out of the blue though I’ll give you that.

Does anyone think Winchester could become a full back - I thought there was something in there

the way things are shaping up he might struggle for game time in the middle, RB is a position we need to fill and he is doing a decent job so far and has played there before.
