The argument is 'one man team' which is a complete misnomer. Without the team creating behind him, RVP would not be scoring the goals he does. Look at it another way, RVP plays in front of a weak team - do you think he would score as many?
@ PISKIE When you need to turn it into a Literary argument then you should realise that you are getting desperate! There is no question that Arsenal have other fantastic players, however at the moment it is one player that is the reason you are where you are in the table. If Van Persie gets his usual injury woes you will struggle to sustain the form you are in, lets be honest Van Persie scores goals not many others are able to do, for instance the goal against Everton, you seriously cannot claim Song put it on a plate for him. Look I actually like Arsenal and they are very much my second team but without Van Persie they would be well behind the top teams. Everyone knows what is meant by 'one man team' and that is not that you play against one man, what everyone except you takes it to mean is that without that one man the results and performances are significantly diminished. I bet you would be quick to admit that Rooney was carrying United last season though wouldn't you?
