I believe you have this seriously wrong. I don't expect jokes about racism and *****philia to be considered a fair and suitable thread topic on NOT606 Hull City. It is always inevitable that we will have posters who want this sort of humour (why though, escapes me), but I would have thought that the considered opinion of two moderators would have said, each to their own, but inappropriate to these boards. Not to is to open up these pages to every low-life comment imaginable - as long as they give it a generally descriptive title. These jokes, as you call them, promote and trivialize two hugely dangerous cults within society; come on PLT, are you really telling me you are happy to go along with that?

At least you refrain from the smartass comments used elsewhere.

 

Paddy rings his new girlfriend's door bell with a big bunch of flowers.

She opens the door, sees the flowers and drags him in.

She lies back in the couch, pulls her skirt up. rips her knickers off and says "This is for the flowers!"

"Don't be silly," says Paddy " You must have vase somewhere!"

If a mod is aware of the thread early, it should have been monitored.

The fact is that I have friends who will tell the same type of jokes as on here, they know that I don't find them funny but they do. I simply do not understand the need.
The posters who say that they have friends who are black and they don't mind, grow up and see the trees.
Posters who think that I am a soft liberal type and I should accept that what you are posting is ok, well, it is you and your types that feed the divisions in the world. You are fools of the highest magnitude. You have been sucked into the belief that you can say what you want without any consequence. You are wrong.

 

If you're aiming for the moral high ground, posting abuse is hardly conducive and neither is using an innacurate name for a stereotype that Egyptians I've spoken to don't like (fez is not an Egyptian term.) Oh, and it's 'smart arse' not ass.


I said I closed it so I could read it, but noticed straight away PLT was dealing with it, so I didn't bother reading. PLT explained that to yo on the other thread, so I gues the 'liar' comment was just you trying to be offensive.

As I've not read the thread and another mod's dealing with it, it seems best I don't provide another molehill for the mountain builder, especially as closing it now would lead to complaints of killing the 'debate'.

What you've done quite nicerly is highlight why we generally moderate quietly and discretely in the background in an attempt to minimise the nonsense and ill-feeling this approach generates.

 

Right. I still haven't had chance to read all the thread, which given some posters have still managed to post abuse in my direction for a thread I'm not involved in is ironic, but it's clearly going nowhere and people are posting abuse to complain about abuse.

This thread highlights the need for posters to show maturity and restraint. If you've an issue with a post, PM a mod. Chucking in your own abuse just sets up a chain reaction that spills into other threads.
