So they march because it is part of Orange tradition..... Obviously an anti Catholic and anti nationalist organisation deliberately coming into contact with Nationalists and Catholics is going to cause some consternation. Don't you think that the Orange Order can be mature enough to change with the times? Is there any possibility that adapting the order might prove beneficial to it?
I seem to remember reading once, in the Guardian I think it was, that there are Orange orders, who live just across the border in Ireland, that have their marches, parades and whatnot, the local Catholics turn out to watch and everyone has a jolly good time.
There is a parade in Donegal and the locals turn out to watch, there used to be more apparently but as prods moved from the ROI border counties the parades there died out I was told that in farming communities throughout the 'North' the farmers from both religions would look after each others farms to allow their neighours to attend their respective orange / hibernian parade. Then came 1969 to mess it all up.
There are lodges throughout Ireland and yes there are a few in the "border" counties. They are not a fun for all the family day. They are tolerated. The Orange Order are not solely sectarian bigots. They are also a highly political organisation who seek to promote and maintain the Union with Britain. Lodges outside the occupied six counties are, therefore, like a man with one leg.
please log in to view this image Those poor poor residents of Cluan Place. Innocently burning Irish Tricolours, Vatican flags and posters from nationalist election candidates who happen to be Polish. Those nasty bad Taigs throw stones at them for no reason at all. Meanwhile across from St Matthews Church in the Short Strand there is a huge banner reading KAT on the bonfire and plenty UVF flags This didn't work out too well for you Med Dog.
Of course there would be no resentment for these profs in Cluan place that get attacked on a daily basis! Are you going to grow to hate your neighbour if he constantly let's his dig ****e in your garden? Bullets, bombs & bricks over the peace wall & you expect these folk to forget about it all? As for the Polski, that placard was up as she ignored the attacks on Cluan place after representatives addressed the issue to them. But yet again, it's their fault for being proddy, it's their fault for living beside a nationalist area. It's these people's fault for existing. You folk wouldn't believe the size of the grin on my face when the Irish tricolour went up in flames.
Yep,its not like the animals from Cluan Place ever attack the good people over the wall in Clandeboye Gardens.
To be honest Med Dog, i think you'd struggle to find anyone who would not believe the smile on your face.
Video by Ardoyne Republicans, so that won't be biased in any way, and its 10 years old ffs. I am not biased but its not just Cluan Place, the Newtownards road end of the Short Strand at Susan Street came under attack night after night from Bryson Street. Local community representitives from BOTH sides asked the city council to move a container that youths from the Short Strand used to gain height to hurl bricks, bolts, stones in fact anything that would damage the houses of those from the 'other side' over the peace wall. There are f**kwits on both sides of the divide, its not just 1 side as some seem to suggest.
Medro why are you bothering posting anything today-Should you not be outside in the sun bashing your lambeg drum celebrating your gay dutch midget instead of popping on here with your sectarian one dimensional drivel.
