The more I think about what Piskie has done, the more I think action is needed.

Discussion in 'Arsenal' started by Jayramfootball, Oct 16, 2011.

  1. Agreed - he scored a couple for Everton, and got a name for them. However, when he signed for us, I recall a few Everton fans saying he was cack at free kicks. Certainly, todays effort was really poor. As was Walcott's.

i think you will find his name is wallnut.

His name became wallnut just as people started telling me i couldnt call him wallnut as it is disrespectful.

You know i am really beginning to doubt his value to us.
He seemed to promise so much and delivered the odd flash but mostly it has been dissapointing.

I really hope OXO doesnt go the same way.
A Spud friend of mine once said that Arsenal (recently)seem to take great players and turn them into average ones.
I poo pooed the idea but the more you look at it it is not that far wide of the mark.

  3. I think it is disrespectful to call Walcott by that name, though sounds like you want to continue to do it, so I can't stop you. Doesn't mean I think it is right though - you sound like you have no respect for him at all.

Personally I think he has a pretty good 12 months - goals and assists wise. He can be frustrating, but he is a player the opponents look to nullify.
As for OXO, I dont know what Wenger is doing with him - he obviously thinks he is not quite ready yet.

exactly............ Wenger hasnt had enough time to yet knock all the "mojo" out of the lad and turn him into another passing robot.

But im sure that when thats accomplished we will see a lot more of him.

And you are correct to assume i have not much respect for That particular player as he hasnt earned it.

He must ,surely ,be more than just a player the opposition need to nullify. ?
When they fail to nullify him i still see the ball being shot miles wide.

When he stops putting the ball past the post or over the bar 12 times a game i will give him all the respect in the world.

For anyone to say that we take good players and ruined them is talking rubbish. Walcott was a 17 tears old who had played a handful of games in the Southampton first team, therefore was never a great player. He always seems to struggle against full backs that have pace, such as Richardson today, whether he will ever be a consistent performer remains to be seen, I think he is a good squad player to have, but not sure he is first choice material in a championship winning team, which is where we want to get back to. It will be interesting to see him get a full season without any major injuries, then we will know if he is good enough or not.

    - like Arshavin, Chamakh, Denilson, and others.

He's working on Ryo, Park and Oxo - won't want to use them until they conform.

  7. I think the expectations of Walcott were that he woudl be a world beater - he isn't. He is a good player that can score goals and create chances - but nothing special. The expectation on him was so high, he's now seen as a failure.

Can't for the life of me understand the situation with OXO. He was on really good form, and just when you want a player to continue it, he gets dropped. Not even a place on the subs bench. Similar situation with Park and Miyaichi. Park has made the bench in the last two games, and was not even used when we needed a goal. This is despite scoring 5 in his last 2 internationals. Today we got away with it, as RVP saved us, but against Spurs I just don't understand why he wasn't used, yet Benayoun is getting game time.

these guys must think to themselves "yeeeeeeeeeess!!!!! " i made it to the Arsenal.

Then they get here and are made to fester on the bench or worse , even when they have SHOWN their credentials like OXO has.

All of the momentum of their succesful debuts are lost .

Look at the young lads that Fergie chuicked in at the deep end , still there and doing great.

I bet when OXO watches the wallnut bang it over the bar for the umpteenth time hes thinkin, " id have put that away."

you missed out Vela, and look at how Eduardo has sharpened since he left us. coincidence ?

Ill bet he could turn Balotelli into a safe sensible player. ***t

  10. The problem seems to be that we only work on passing. Our shooting is pretty poor, both in terms of actually going for it and then when we actually do the number of missed chances and scuffed shots. RVP is clearly the exception - he hasnt lost his shot. But player like Rosicky and Arshavin were deadly from range when they joined Arsenal, but they cant hit a cows arse with a banjo these days.

there could be 2 reasons for this as i see it.

One . Wenger has a very set and uncompromising type of play which he wants all players to learn and master , no matter how long it takes.

this has had the effect of knocking all the individual skill and initiative that the players you mention most certainly had when we purchased them.

TWO . The players showed great skill and individual initiative.

    MR wenger buys them
    .
They shout "whoopee , we have made it to a nice big club with nice big wages time to enjoy easy street and stop worrying about impressing anyone "

Reconcile this with The leaving of Nasri and Cesc .
    Why have they left. ?
Was it money alone or could they see the writing on the wall. ?

The evidence certainly points to reason number one.

I don't think that you should be censored at all. This forum is about expressing your opinion whatever it may be. However, when you flood the board with several articles roughly about the same thing I think it is reasonable for the moderators to group them together. Anyone who clicks on your articles will see what you have to say regardless. Also, I am aware that my last comment was grammatically incorrect but I think it sounds good and I used it for brevity, fair enough?

Guys, I think Jayram is a prick, but I agree with him.

If you set aside your views against him and actually look at what he's saying, you'll find that Piskie is being a ****.

He's not moderating, he's dictating. What he doesn't like he deletes, what he likes gets to stay. Prick.

BUT THEY WEREN'T SAYING THE SAME THING.

Just because they were all negative doesn't mean they're saying the same thing! What about merging all the positive threads!

You can't 'housekeep' categories that are as general as this.

"Let's merge all threads about Arsenal into one thread!"
