Hornette, in answer to your question, there are 3 main charities each year and then smaller amounts go to other charities, all local. Examples over the years have been Jersey Womens Refuge, the Jersey branch of cancer charities, care homes, and one of last years I was particularly pleased I walked for was Autism Jersey, as my youngest has Asperger's Syndrome (aka high-performing autism). I know this isn't going to help much in Edinburgh, but I usually use trainers on the tarmac and hiking boots on the cliff paths, but once again, it's 2 pairs of footwear. Guernsey has it's own version about 2 weeks before us, and it's about 6-8 miles less. One year I plan on doing the double.
Sorry to hear that Leonardo, w-y and Norway. It's a dreadful disease, wherever it is. yes w-y, spill! lol
Ah yes jsybaz, i know about Aspergers, a good friend of mine has it. i managed to get him driving a couple of years ago..proud moment for both of us that was . Hmm, definitely beginning to think i need another pair of trainers..darn it! lol
Lenny - There was an old wooden Cafe at Ricky that had a wooden veranda outside. My mum was inside getting something and I was playing about on this veranda when my foot and leg went through the wooden floor and I got stuck..!! BTW - I hope Mrs Lenny is getting on OK
Ouch W-Y! Bet that hurt! So, did my 3 miles this morning, 2 mins fast, 2 mins slow, 3 miles seems so easy suddenly, and i used to make such a fuss about the Race for Life! lol. View attachment 1941
3.9 miles in 54 minutes today...if i could only keep up that pace for 26.2 i'd be up there with W-Y and Mrs W-Y!
Read in the wobby yesterday about some women completing a 10 m run down a canal towpath ........and immediatly thought of you!Hornette!
aww, thanks Norway! i hope i don't get in their way ..next year, maybe i'll attempt a run but the Race for Life near killed me lol
Ha - Hornette would sneer at that 10m !! In fact so would I run 10 metres just to get into the house when it's raining
Conjures up images of a lycra clad leo running 10 miles around his farm (warning this post not to be read without adult supervision!)
No way you can get to the Vic for the QPR game is there Leo! would be fun to meet as many of ours as I can! Think its very inconvienent of the royalty putting on a side show on thesame weekend!! has caused me great expense!!!
Worth a thought - let me see what we have planned for that weekend before I get back to you - it would be fun
W-y has sorted a weekend to not be remembered but Yorkie said he was coming down and Hornette was going ,would be cool to actually meet a few of you guys! before ,during or after the game!
