Hornette - Why not try something like 12 miles and if it goes Ok, do another 8 miles the day after. It will keep your fitness and muscles in shape whilst you recover? Try pacing yourself to 3 MPH instead of +4
That was what I was going to suggest w-y - or start out on the 19 and see how it goes and stop if you think it is pushing it a little - the other thing H is you may want to not try for such a fast time - that may be the stretch too far (no pun intended)
sounds like fair advice! general summary dont go too fast ,listen to the body and while your feeling good keep going! ,If at any stage probs arise stop!
i will be taking that advice tomorrow. I'll definitely take it slower, i don't think i'm ready to speed back up again yet, so i won't be doing 19, coz i'll never get home. i'll set my sights lower, and just walk, with energy drinks and dextrosol in tow! i can feel i'm not ready for a big one today, so i think i need to let my body heal a bit longer. Good idea on the 12 w-y...thank you so much. When i get to see you all, you're going to get a big thank you hug!
Hornette has finally decided to listen to her body, since it is now screaming at her! No walk today, though i'm going for a slow stroll in the sunshine soon. Pain pills are taken, but i'm well aware that i'm in pain, so i'm going to take it very easy. I've also made an appointment to see a physio person/chiropractor (not sure which!) on Tuesday, so if it's still bad then, it should be sorted, hopefully! Feeling much more positive today, had a bit of a downer on the whole thing yesterday. If i decide to do this again, please make sure i do it with someone else, and don't train on my own! Thank you
Gad your going easy although I wish you werent walking anywhere as this is exactly going to help things heal! Pain killers OMG are things that bad? Before the painkillers next time try cuprofen this is more of an anti imflammatory! and may be of use! Please go real easy if you carry out your wander! Have you managed to catch W-y
Hornett - In a couple of years when Mrs W_Y has finished Uni, you would be more than welcome to train with us up and down the Grand Union in bandit country!
