i will start very soon to get some earlier nights, i'm not sleeping in late when i can either, which is odd for me. A little more worrying is my left leg, which still hasn't recovered from the cramp. i went for a little 3 mile walk today, not fast, just to see what damage i've done, and i had pain at the back of my thigh and in my hip..not happy. i've rung the Personal Trainer that gave me the programme and am hoping to see him early in the week to see what he thinks i should do. It's all a bit worrying now, so close to the big night. And i was doing so well! Grrrowls!
Thanks Leonardo..i know you're right, i suppose i'm just getting nervous now, and hoping my body doesn't let me down!
Hornette Had a quick think ! is there a sports injury clinic near you? I think you should get that leg deep massaged ,which is quite painful but if theres anything like a trapped nerve or misplaced or stuck tendon or something it may release it! I`m clutching at straws here, but if the back of your left leg feels very tight it might be worth a shot!
i have no idea Norway! It does seem to feel a lot better today though, yay! i think i'll stick to stretches and stuff this week, and leave the walking til Friday, that should give it a chance to recover, but still get some work. i've never seen a sports clinic but i might get a chance to go and ask tomorrow morning if i find time to get to the blinking runner's shop!
Problem is H that if you leave it a week between walks then each one is difficult - tend to agree with Norway - if you can ask a specialist
You're right Leonardo. Before Easter i was doing 3 at least a week with the leg and hip exercises in between..i need to get back to all that...i'm sure that'll help ... I'm seeing the personal trainer who set me the progamme on Thursday so hopefully he'll be able to suggest someone, if he can't give me any answers
2rj - Cheers, I will tune in - one of the funniest programmes I have seen in years. That Georg is totally mental..
i'm having a good week, i think! i did a short, slow walk on Sunday to make sure i could still walk..3 miles...it still hurt from Friday but i did it. Yesterday i got back into my hip and leg exercises, they hurt today so that's good too! i also did a couple of miles today, a steady pace with a chatty friend which was nice. So, more leg and hip exercises tomorrow, and then a walk on Friday. i'm yet to decide whether to do the 19+ that i'm supposed to be doing, or to take it a bit easier...but i'd like to do the planned long one if i can. i might just slow it down a bit this week..it's not a race, is it lol..i keep having to remind myself that the time isn't as important as the distance...but i'm way too competitive to listen!
