First things first , we gotta get the swelling down , weight off your feet get the ice pack! ,you know the drill!
Hornette - You will get blisters and sore toes, it is just the sheer volume of miles you are doing. Secret is to manage them. Some tips if you would like them? - Put a plaster or two on the inside of the sole of your trainers just below where you toes are. Reason is that when you Power Walk, your toes naturally lift as you walk and they rub against the top of your trainers. - Always were clean walking socks - were I know, but make sure - Wear proper socks - were I know. - Put a bit of talcum in your socks# - This one is a bit of a debate - rub Vaseline in your toes! Lots shear about it, but I never did it.. - For me, they real answer is quality trainers
All of that is good advice ! ,I am a little concerned of the numb toe Is it still Numb or can you feel it fading! My concern is that you have trapped a nerve in your foot that may account for the swelling as well!
i went to the running shop for the trainers...i have to admit, i've always had minor blisters with them, but they've been much better since i've worn two pairs of socks...these blisters are very unusual..i'm very miffed. Thanks so much w-y...i know my toes lift coz i've got holes in my trainers lol..i always get that, good or bad trainers! lol I've heard the vaseline thing, maybe i'll try that on friday
ok leave it up , cold for 10 mins ten warmth for 10 if you can stand it, back to cold! if it is a trapped nerve you can sometimes move it with temp difference! Have you ever had any past injury to that foot ,or suffered arthritis!
no hon, this is a new thing...unless you count the hockey ball i got in my ankle when i was at school lol...
Ok see where your at tomorrow but you need to rest it, if there is still numbness on monday go get professional advice! Could be a trip to the Docs or at least the person who drew up your training programme!
Hornette - Your big toes will suffer, nothing you can about it. I lost the nails on both of mine after doing the Moonwalk, but Mrs W_Y only lost one or 2 over 4 years. Important thing now is to look after your feet during your ramp up to the night - yeah, I know it's obvoius, but all the things I mentioned are so important to you on the night.
When things go numb its the body giving you a little warning , that something is wrong, like maybe you overdoing it
but i've been at this since February, you'd think my darn foot would have got the message by now! lol w-y, i've heard about the lost nail thing...must remember not to worry about getting my toenails done lol. Thanks so much for all the advice, i promise to take it
Excellent, http://www.ehow.com/about_5035281_causes-numbness-feet.html poor blood circulation under heavy exercise was what I was wanting to rule out!
hmm, when i walk my fingers always swell up if i don't keep my arms pumping...but that's gotta be normal, right? they recover very quickly...
