F***ing Max Bretos is a joke, I am having trouble finding some others that are more current though. One thing I don't like is the way the commentators also talk about the game like the people watching don't have a clue about the rules, what things are, why a player does it. Instead of "lovely ball" it is " the reason he passed that is because he was in pressure, etc" knobs.
Bluff do you also have an urge to punch Eric Wynalda in face? Every time he talks I hope Mike Tyson walks and knocks him out, Hangover Style.
Yes and no, at least he has an opinion I guess. Kyle Martino is a ****ing useless, egotistical, twat who thinks he was the **** when he wasn't that good, good but not what he thinks he was. Chris Sullivan is probably our best in terms of not going OTT and knowing what he is talking about. JP Dellacamera and John Harkes are by far the worst, Harkes is a piece of **** too.
I think I hate Eric Wynalda more because I'm a Galaxy fan and hates that Landon Donovan is in every way shape and form a better player than he ever was, and always has something bitter to say about it. He also seems to talk out his ass about pretty much everything, as if he doesn't understand the laws of the game. I remember when Kyle Martino played for the Galaxy, the only decent game I remember him having was in a friendly against Chelsea, other than that he was about as useful as Darron Gibson. I agree Sullivan is probably the best, but I don't really mind Harkes that much as he rarely lets JP ever talk. Edit: Wynalda hates Man Utd. Every year he predicts we won't be in the top 4.
Harkes is the worst for me followed by JP, Martino, Wynalda, and then all those Fox Soccer Report guys ( the canadians). Warren barton has helped a lot and him and Chris Sullivan can actually debate on what they think is right and wrong. Now for others, how could I forget Alexi " everything in the air" lalas, Taylor " Mr. 4-4-2" Twellman, and Nick " I'm English but my highest coaching level is high school" Webster. ****ing joke some of these are. They don't help the audience in any way shape or form!
I agree about Barton, hes the only person who I actually listen to. Alexi Lalas, always has and always will bother the **** out of me. From the time he was the GM of the Galaxy and almost ****ed everything up. I personally think he enjoyed taking every promising young player and trading them for a some old geriatric twat who needed to play in walker. As soon as the Galaxy got rid of him, they actually look like a decent team. Whenever he tries to talk about whatever game he's analyzing he has absolutely no clue what he's talking about. I'm used to it now, as every commentator he is in the same boat.
It's a nightmare because most of the people watching have knowledge of the game and can spot a **** commentator but there are still that small percent, especially the younger generation, who are hearing these guys and thinking they are right and know it all.
Wage caps The league owns players' contracts, not the clubs A stupid transfer system That all adds up to a crappy league where has beens from other leagues go to retire
Hopefully, as the current players we have now in the National Team ect. will go into broadcasting and hopefully they will have a better understanding of the game then the current lot.
Let's hope so, but Taylor Twellman and the newest one, Jimmy Conrad, are absolutely terrible. Jimmy Conrad not only looks nervous, you can hear it in his voice, and he is another who you just have to question why.
Well I'd consider them part of the first MLS generation, I think with the large increase of interest since the 2002 and 2006, the newer generation of players will have grown up with more knowledge of the game. In all honesty we should just poach some people from England. Or **** it, I'll man up and do it.
The few times I've streamed FSC Barton seemed to be the only one anyone listened to. Whatever happened in the game the presenter would first ask Barton for his opinion, and then all the other pundits would basically just agree with what he said. Made me wonder what they were all there for...
I don't have a radio/tv voice, but at least I'm actually interested in the sport. I should walk in and tell em all to **** off cause MANO ****ING BEAR is here and its showtime. Some of us fat ignorant lazy Americans can't understand him. He has a funny accent. I do well with everything but Asian Accents.
Ah I see - the other blokes are all there to interpret Warren's outpourings for the American public. Imagine if they had Alan Hansen summarising!
Haha that would be misery. There's one Scottish guy whose pretty bad, that sometimes commentates some of the games we get on FSC.
