This is just going to be tactical with both trainers trying to find out the best way of beating the other at Cheltenham.
Well I can't say I expected that but Sprinter Sacre was very very impressive. Peddlers isn't short of pace but he was thoroughly outpaced today and although he clipped a few of the fences it was a very tidy display of jumping from Sprinter Sacre... Very impressed
Exactly how I said it would happen. I'm sure now you all realise that Sprinter Sacre is a certainty for the Arkle, this horse is a machine, and he will destroy Peddlers Cross and any other Challengers come Cheltenham
Backed Sprinter Sacre today and there literally was never a moments doubt. I know people on here really like PC for the Arkle but it must have been really disappointing for his Arkle backers to see him get mullered like that...Sprinter Sacre's jumping was simply electric (just like his first chase win).
Yes he certainly was incredible.PC was outclassed and outgunned in every single department.I would feel a tad sick if had PC ante-post for the Arkle as i feel he wont run nor would he win anyway.Did u have a big bet ante-post on SS for the Arkle before todays race shergy?
I dont think its a for gone conclusion Shergar, He as been very impressive in his two chase starts but Cheltenham is a different ball game. Will he be able to maintain it up the hill? Maybe he will be too far clear that he won't have to but we know Peddlers Cross stays very well at Cheltenham. I don't think Al Ferof is quick enough to win an Arkle but he stays very well as shown in the Supreme... Im still unsure if we saw the Arkle winner today
No I don't bet antepost, it's a mugs game. Though I had a lump on him today at 11/8. Istabraq Sprinter Sacre will have no problems getting home at Cheltenham, Barry Geraghty never even went for him today, he could have gone round again if he wanted. Barry Geraghty said after the race, that he's never had as good a feel from a horse before. This is a jockey who has won the Champion Chase twice on Moscow Flyer, and once with Big Zeb. I cant believe after Peddlers Cross was totally outclassed today, you can actually make a case for him reversing the form at Cheltenham. It doesnt matter what track you put them on Sprinter Sacre will prove far to classy for Peddlers Cross
I wasn't making a case for Peddlers Cross to reverse the form, Im just saying he as a proven record around Cheltenham which is a far tougher track to win on than Kempton. I think Sprinter Sacre is top notch and is the worthy favourite for the Arkle but one performance at Kempton isn't going to persuade Me to lump on in March. Al Ferof put Sprinter Sacre to the sword in the Supreme. Like I said different ball game at Cheltenham... Just My opinion
Well SS impressed me last season, accepted he didn't blitz Cheltenham, impressed in his first chase, and wowed me today. Ante-post betting IS a minefield, but I'm really, really tempted
Well done on getting something right for once King Shergar,I notice you've had little to say on the mighty Kauto's win yesterday, after months of relentlessly knocking the horse bet yesterday must have really hurt.Well done to the other Sprintre Sacre backers, was hugely impressive!
Cheltenham a different ball game to a flat Kempton Park. Sprinter Sacre a rightful favourite for the Arkle, absolutely electric. But Peddlers was eased down for the final fence and handed the initiative to SS after just one fence, with a horrible blunder. The Arkle is a funny old game.
SS very impressive. Early days yet for the Arkle though. If the big players take their chance shaping into a decent race. Peddlers has a good record round Cheltenham and sure to be better suited by the track.
Reading Don McCain's comments after the race, i'm not sure PC will even turn up for a re-match. It looks like they might step him up in trip. The 9/4 currently on offer for SS might seem massive come Arkle day.
To be fair it's probably more than 9-4 against him turning up, but if he's available no run no bet later, then I'll take it
