.. according to football's very own pantomime villain: Although it was a good result for both sides, Rotherham boss Warnock took issue with his opposite number over comments made in the media before the game. And he also took a side swipe at Johnson's father, Gary, the former City manager who is now in charge at Cheltenham Town Brandishing a copy of the Bristol Post Warnock fumed: "I didn't have to do a team talk, Lee Johnson did it for me yesterday when I read the paper. "What he said in the local paper was an absolute disgrace. I know he is only a young manager, but I don't think he should be saying things like 'we have to make sure we win, whether we do it by aggression or intimidation'. "That is almost inciting the crowd and I think that is out of order, personally. Like father, like son I suppose." Booo - Hisss!..Don't you just love him? !!!!!!!
The gulf in tactical nous and motivational skills between managers last night was incredibly apparent.
NickH said: ↑ Have you made predictions for MK Dons and Charlton? ..crunch is coming up QPR V Charlton and MKD V ROTHERHAM whilst we play Sheff ! after this it open season ......
Not really. The Millers has a free kick in a good position towards the end of the game and in a obvious drill they created a defensive imbalance (interesting) where the ball was played to the corner flag, in an attempt to head the ball into the box (naïve and stupid) where the attacking side were outnumbered by defenders and not shifting. That is % x % football. The ball may as well have been kicked out of the stadium.
We were crap last night but after 90 mins we were one point better off and with one less game to play. That's all that matters (for the time being)
So The Panto Dame Warnock has described Johnson (and his dad) of being 'a disgrace'. Quite impressed, to be honest. I am please to see the mighty midge has teeth. And while on the subject, a little advice for the Panto season… People who live in glass houses…..
I like Warnock and wouldn't have any problem if he was our manager saving us from relegation. The guy has passion with what he does which seem to rub off on the players, also I'm quite a fan of his on the radio too. He just loves the banter and winding people up! (seems to do a good job on some of our fans!) I also agree he could be the type of manager that could take us up. But he's not our manager, LJ is, so I'm happy to back the guy and at least give him a chance. Really annoys me that there are people out there just waiting to slaughter every decision he makes, obviously not understanding that he can only work with the tools he's got. Yes he lacks experience but I think given the time, he will become a good young manager.....Lets give him the benefit and see how it gets on in the summer with signings etc.......................................providing we stay up that is!!!
In some ways it's quite flattering that despite the many, many enemies Warnock has amassed over the years, we seem to be the team that has most gotten under his skin.
Yeah one should be a rugby coach, the other maybe he might come good. Remember your verdict on Elliott?
Glad there are other that respect the guy,top man is NW new exactly what he was doing, got a point, nearly had three.
nw top man ! are you serious? 5 promos with lower league teams and 3 relegations, sacked god knows how many times- that makes him a top man?, I cant believe what I read on here sometimes, the mind boggles.
Controversial option but having thought about it, I'd rather have Cotterill in charge than Warnock. I'd absolutely despise having to see my team play like Rotherham week in week out
Do all the bad managers and referees set up shop just for Bristol City? Forget those 2 and decide did we play well enough to win and the answer is probably no.
He would also be the first on here to complain and whinge if he was actually made to watch the **** that Warnock passes for football week in, week out (clueless) and so would Redprintt too..
Quite frankly I believe we were lucky to get a draw. Apart from the two well saved headers I thought Rotherham were the far better side who were always first to the ball and won most 50/50 tackles. I think they made us look ordinary. Having said that this was the type of game we would have lost under SC but PO got us a point with a well taken goal . So thanks LJ for a point but I guess you are beginning to realise that half of the team are not up to Championship standard. Bring on the transfer window
'If that's his idea of how a football team should play, then he's more of a cock than I originally thought'. RODney, You and others who think the above are the Cocks. Daft to think he'd play that way with the players we have. He's gone in at Rotherham and realised with the players he inherited the best way to avoid relegation. Just as Pembo did when Cotterill was sacked. 'so would Redprintt too..' Are you and RODney joined at the hip ? Try and think you for yourself. FYI - I wouldn't choose Warnock to manage City. Not for the first time - don't let fact get in the way of a good story.
