On a serious note, he has to do a lot more I think to change perception of him.
He should replace Charnley and Carr and find a new shirt sponsor and then we are talking.
The comms bit he has sorted and hopefully now appreciated investment is an ongoing minimum requirement.

Mike is misunderstood mate. He didn't meant to treat us all like a piece of **** and turn our club into a billboard for his respectable company whilst we became the laughing stock of the PL. It just sort of happened by mistake I think.
He needs a big group hug with all 50,000 of us on a match day. This will help heal the wounds.

Now you're just being stubborn. Mbemba isn't turd. The question isn't whether we are good but whether there's three teams worsem than us.

We were only marginally more crap than the rest of the relegation candidates in December. We should now be somewhat better than we were a month ago. That is a reason to be optimistic that we will avoid relegation.

And you're getting carried away. I can remember a few stronger squads than that.

Norwich have spurs - Away win
Swansea V West Brom - Goaless Draw
Makems V M City - Big Away win

If results go for us or as my personal predictions, then we need to get at least a draw tomorrow night. A win could see us get out of the R zone and we can head into Saturday's needing a win to hopefully get a bit clear

    Weekend Games

Norwich V Villa - Hopefully a draw or even a villa win (optimistic)
Lpool V Mackems - Again a loss for our inbred neighbours
Swansea V Palace - Again hopefully another Draw, i still really want Swansea to go down and hope they dont put a run together!

Im more confident of getting 3 points at the weekend at home to WBA, then away to everton. 4 points would be great and would set us on 25 going into Chelsea away.

I still think we are going to be in or about the R zone for a while and at the moment we are very dependant on other teams form. If we can concentrate on ourselves and get the results we need, then hopefully we will be in the position where we dont need to worry about how everyone else is doing!

I'd also very much like to see WBA go down! there wont be any bids over £15m for berahino and that'll learn Jeremy Pearce!

The big thing for me is how we do against the team's in and around us. If we can pick up 10-12 points from the West Brom, Sunderland, Bournemouth, Swansea, Norwich and Villa games. I reckon we can pick up the other 9 - 10 points we will need out of the other 9 games to see us safe.

Sorry Mate, I kinda thought Sunderland had a chance of staying up until I saw your run of fixtures. Man City, Liverpool, Man u, West Ham, Palace, Southampton, Everton then us

There's only one winable game there and I dont think its enough. Maybe enough to drag us back down tho!

Two reasonable looking squads for our situation - obviously the second team is no way near as strong but the players could come in and do a job!

Missed a few out like Marveux and Krul but sack off all but Krul and Cisse who arent in those squads, add a CB, a LB and a CF...IF Doumbia fails and Arma ain't ready next season and we have the makings of a half decent squad.

    Really?

At the risk of sounding negative for negativity's sake, Mike Ashley is doing what he can to stay in the PL, no more.

He's been here long enough to realise that the amounts you have to spend on players has risen, but has our league position?

Cheapskate: Giving Carver the job when Pardew left was another example of trying to do things on the cheap and I could go on but you have all witnessed the 'Ashley effect' for long enough to know what he's like.

I'm pleased that so many of you are more positive now, but for me I still think NUFC will be relegated this season.

I look forward to being wrong.

Proper squad depth means two players for each position. So, with that in mind and marking out those who are too poor and/or injury prone and therefore likely to contribute to dropped points the team looks a lot less rosy:

    GK: Krul, Elliot, Darlow

    LB: Dummet, Haidara
    RB: Janmaat
    CB: Mbemba, Colo, Taylor, Lascelles

    LM: Townsend, Aarons
    RM: Sissoko, Obertan
CM: Shelvey, Colback, Saivet, Anita, Tiote

AM: Wijnaldum, Perez, De Jong, Gouffran

    S: Mitrovic, Doumbia, Cisse, Riviere

    In summary:

GK: decent options. RB: Only one round peg for a round hole option. LB: Only one reasonable option in Dummett (who has been having fitness issues - oh dear!). CB: Only one decent option in Mbemba. Colo only sporadically producing good performances. Taylor too injury prone to rely upon. Lascelles too inexperienced to rely upon in such an important position. LM: Good options. RM: Sissoko is good there when he can be bothered. CM: Good options. AM: Excellent options. S: Mitrovic badly lacking confidence. Doumbia unproven and injury prone. Cisse been off the boil for time out of mind and injured. Riviere... Nothing more needs to be said.
