Given the expectations on Spurs at the start of last season, you had a good season.
Given what you could have done 2/3 of the way through the season, you definitely ****ed it up
Capitulating to relegated Newcastle 5-1 and bottling 2nd place to us on the last day was the icing on the cake

You can deflect all you like, Arsenal in the last few years have become the bridesmaids of English football. There or thereabouts I grant you, but unable to catch the bouquet and move up to being the bride!!

I don't deny that we probably should have been doing better over the last decade. Wenger has his flaws, but the spending of City, Chelsea, Utd was always going to make the task that much more difficult. Two trophies, a CL final and every season in the top 4 isn't to be sniffed at though. The main frustration for us seems to have been that we were always 1 or 2 players away from a title winning squad, this season we've finally addressed some key areas. So I think it's going to be a very interesting season ahead.
I would have agreed with this statement up until last year. Leicester proved that "big name, big salary" players and managers aren't always needed. I think you had an even more valuable resource, in Wenger, as he should have given you the stability to build a title wining squad over a few years. Problem for me is that Wenger can pretty much do what he wants and still remain in the job until he decides it's time to go.
I'm not sure how Arsenal fans can be happy. Surely you all want to be able to make that next step and be challenging. After today's performance against Burnley, I still think Arsenal have a soft under belly, which will ultimately be the downfall this season.

), and most Spurs fans know better than to count on anything until it's done and dusted. But still, the one thing we can count on is Arsenal's yearly "title challenge" collapsing around xmas time. It's the gift that keeps on giving
To be fair though, Leicester was pretty much a one off. I can't see that being repeated in the PL for a long time. I think our problem was that Wenger built 4/5ths of a title winning squad, but just didn't add that extra player or two that would see us over the line. Each time, we had players who got impatient and wanted to leave, so it was back to square one again. I think it's different this time, because we have a core of players who have now been at the club for 4-5 years or longer and we've finally added players in key areas (GK, CB, DM) as well as having world class players in Ozil and Sanchez. I think we still lack a killer striker, but we do at least have some more options up front now.

This is where your argument starts to fall apart. You claim that it's only the spending power of other clubs that has stopped you from competing and a couple of cups, CL every year etc. should not be sniffed at. But when the big spending clubs couldn't perform, you still couldn't take advantage of it.
I also thought both Ozil and Sanchez want out. Only today, it's being reported Ozil eyeing up a move to Spain.
I haven't claimed that though. I've said that Wenger's flaws have prevented him from adding the players we needed. I mentioned Chelsea, City and Utd's spending as that exacerbated the problem, but it wasn't the sole reason.
As for what you read in the papers, I'd take it all with a pinch of salt mate.
I honestly reckon with the players they have that Arsenal wouldn't even be able to win league 1. They're bottlers, plain and simple and have a mental block when it comes to the final hurdle. Mentality is a big part of any sport and no team has paid the price of that more than the Gunners.
