It just show's that this Spurs team are no where near ready for the title (and they know it) and they've been punching well above their weight this season.

Completely OTT. But I suppose I should expect nothing less from a mouser.

Yes, some of our players lost their heads, but Chelsea set the tone early on, with scumbag in general, Costa, at the heart of things.

No, we couldn't maintain Leicester's consistency over the season, partly because we started the season too slowly, and latterly because we haven't closed games out when we should have. But to say we're nowhere near ready is just another example of the bitter bollocks I've been reading on here this morning.

He is right though, for once, the eye gouge seemed totally unprovoked.
Spurs played like ass holes last night, just no need for it.
The Premier League will hit them with a few charges for this. I think you get a fine if 5 or more players are booked in a match, plus there was the eye gouge, which Dembele will be charged with, plus whatever happened in that little scuffle after the final whistle.
Our players, and Costa in particular, are far from Saints, everyone knows what Costa can do when he is in that mood, but that showing yesterday was pretty special from Spurs.

And by Special I mean Special needs.
 
Costa got what he deserved last night, absolutely no doubting that. Too many players have pussied away from him and let him give the impression to everyone that he's some kind of hard-man enforcer. Well, our Dembele put an end to that forever, and showed the footballing World that the slimey grease-bag is nothing more than a cowardly bully. Dembele treated him like his bitch, and then, later, in the tunnel, when Costa tried to give it large, Dembele took him apart.

I strongly suspect that the next meeting between these two teams is going to be a far more muted affair, when Chelsea give us far, far more respect.

It was an ugly second half of football, to be sure, but I think this game was as much about how we set ourselves out at the Bridge in future games as it was about anything else. This Spurs side not only has the skill to challenge at the top next season, but we've proven that we have the fighting steele, too. All the tops of the past - Liverpool, Leeds, United - they've all been able to play dirty and ugly when it's been needed.

I see a trend that Spurs fans are blaming Costa for their antics last night <doh>

Get real FFS. Any manger would drill it into their players to not let him wind you up, he's known for it. He did it and it worked a treat. Spurs really showed themselves up last night.

I can only imagine what would have happened if that little jumped up Alli was playing. In hindsight it was probably a good thing he was banned. He might have actually hurt someone. [HASHTAG]#scum[/HASHTAG]
 
Do you remember how dirty Souness and Case used to be? Alli and Dembele couldn't hold a candle to those two neadarthals.

Yet, take those two players out of that 70s 'Pool side, and you'd be left with a team that would have barely been good enough for mid table.

That was when football was a mans sport HIAG. These days children and families go (much more often) to see their hero's play for mega bucks. I wouldn't want my child watching Thugspurs thanks <ok>
 
I was 7 when I first witnessed, firsthand, the career-ending thugishness of that 'Pool side, Sky.
 
The reality is the title "race" has been over for a while. Nothing in Leicester's recent form suggested they were going to slip up. The match last night was dramatic but even if Spurs hadn't bottled it Leicester would still have got over the line.

He can count himself fortunate that Alli wasn't on the pitch, or he may have taken a couple of right hooks as well as an eye-gouging.

Not quite sure how the terms Hipster applies.
But you are right in a way.
The only telling thing from this is how the Spurs fans, rather than criticise their team, as any sane person would, are choosing to try defend their team against the indefensible.
You cannot defend a discipline performance like that.
I expect people not to have any sympathy for Costa, with his track record, but Fabregas, Ivanovic, Willian, Pedro and Hazard were booted up and down the pitch. (Though I did agree that the stamp on Fabs hand DID look accidental).
Was a pathetic showing from a team who were trying to play for the right to be champions.
 
We're all assuming that Poch is letting the discipline slip, but for all we know he might have told the lads to "mix it up a little bit" against these sides, to let them know that if, in future, they step out of line, they are going to suffer big-time.

Whilst, ordinarily, I abhor violence, I do think that the odd physical reprimand, correctly and timely applied, can work absolute wonders in the long term.

So, whilst - yes - we must be firm with Alli and Dembele and make it clear that the antics they have displayed are not to be condoned, let us, at the very least, applaud their fighting spirit and their willingness to put these bully-boys and thugs in their places!

Costa could fall in that category, but what about the other 10 players on the pitch? Why do they get labelled as Bully boy thugs?

Willian, Pedro and Hazard ffs? They are soft as ****e. Hazard looks like he weighs 90lbs when wet and wearing steel toed boots.
I can forgive some of the harder tackles, but your team clearly lost the plot, unable to handle the pressure.
Especially after we equalized, your teams mentality went to ****, not sure thats something you should be applauding.

There was no need to "fight", your team were winning 0-2 and you ****ing buckled like your North London cousins in red.

Bodi, please don't force us to delve back into the hefty annuls of CFC shame. Most successful sides have used the dark art of winning dirty to achieve their success. What you are seeing is not a case of Spurs fans glorifying in violence, but a rejoicing that this very Spurs side is not going to take the kind of sh1t that previous Spurs sides did.

I can fully understand why that fact will upset a lot of rival fans.

I'm not going to criticise my team after the clear provocation on and off the pitch.

Alli's little dig at the West Brom player got plenty criticism. I could be idyllic and lay into the Spurs players....but that would be too easy for what has been a Spurs v everyone else season. I've got a lot of respect for the Spurs team and it is no coincidence they reacted the way they did with the gamesmanship leading up to the game.

It was a one off against Chelsea...that's fine with me.

When you criticise your team for lacking class and professionalism in their attitude leading up to the game..then I'll criticise my team for trying to break their legs....in the mean time, they asked for it and I can understand the retaliation.
