William Saliba wants to seal a transfer to the Gunners but Saint-Etienne prefer rivals Tottenham's offer for the 18-year-old French centre-back. (Sun)

Yeah, right.
<laugh>

The kid could join a sinking ship, whose captain is already trying to desert, playing in Europe against Bosnian plumbers and gas fitters, or...

He could get aboard Poch's juggernaut extravaganza and start making history among Europe's elite...

Hmm.

Which option will the lad really go for...?

Ceballos prefers Arsenal because he expects to be a regular starter but is worried he won't make the Spurs team. Saliba might think the same. Astonished that you think that is something to boast about.

He would be a regular starter at Arsenal. Hopefully he'll be able to get us back in the CL where we belong.

As for Salilba, he chose Arsenal before you even came in for him, and he still prefers Arsenal.

Form is temporary, class is permanent <ok>

Ceballos wants a loan only, which apparently is the deal with Arsenal. We wanted a buy option which won’t fly as Ceballos still thinks he has a future with Real.

However, he feels he needs to be playing regular football to make his case, hence the loan situation.

Yeah it makes sense for both clubs. We need MF players and we're skint. Ceballos get's regular game time and we don't have to pay a transfer fee.

Still got wum value where HIAG is concerned though, seeing as he was blathering on about Spurs stealing Arsenal's targets lol

You are both wrong.

Didnt you know ps has direct access to both ceballos and salibas brains and if he says they are only moving their for first team football then he is right!

Your first sentence wouldn’t surprise me.

As @PISKIE says, the Ceballos loan deal makes sense for both clubs.

What’s happening with Saliba, I’ve no idea. Sounds like we took a punt at him when we thought Toby was off to Roma. As they’re now pissing around and don’t want to pay the £25mill, I’m not sure if we’re even still interested.

Apparently the latest with the Saliba deal is that we'd agreed a fee of £27m and the player had agreed personal terms, it was all in the hands of the lawyers and then you ****s came in with a £30m bid. So we had to up our offer to match yours. The player still wants to come to Arsenal apparently. But St Etienne are considering whether to try and play us both off against each other and drive up the price.

Why the **** are you paying 30m for a defender who you arent even playing next season

All of our own making tbh. We ****ed up on transfers by not getting top dollar for our best assets and then missed out on CL for 3 seasons, so now we're feeling the pinch. If we can get the next couple of transfer windows right though, then we're in good shape for a challenge to get back into top 4 and back to where we should be.

Apparently he's the next Raphael Varane. So if we don't get him now, he'll get snapped up by Barca, PSG or Real for £900m next season
