That's three hat-tricks in nine games for Harry Kane and I don't think he is finished.
(BBC Football Live)

I wonder if Zlatan has ever done that?

@Skylarker do you have any stats to help us, mate?

Forgive me, Sky. I spoke out of turn.

Dull I most definitely am, but I have not intention to mislead, misrepresent, or upset. I am not a wumster any more.

Sorry, mate.

It was not me that compared Zlatan to Kane. I think you've mistaken me for an idiot?
Kane and Zlaten should never be in the same sentence.

It will be a tricky period to navigate financially. But if there's one thing we trust Levy to do, it is to balance the books and keep us in the black. I know that he has concocted some multi-million £'s deal with the NFL whereby our ground will be used for 2 NFL showcase matches per year over 10 years, in exchange for a massive increase in our publicity and market reach in the States, and some major sponsorship deals on the side.

Just did a quick search and it is interesting that our total net spend since the PL began is significantly lower than your own (around £60million). This, combined with the fact that your wage structure is (with the greatest respect) somewhat insane, and I think we are better positioned to cope with the stadium burden than you were.

To be quite honest, I don't think a single Spurs fan could care less if we stopped spending big bucks for a few years anyway. Almost every player we've ever signed over £15m has turned out to be utterly ****e, so why bother? Soldado, Paulinho, Janssen, Sissoko, Bentley, Bent...the list is painful. Our biggest success stories in the market have undoubtedly been the 'budget range' of players: Alli, Toby, Wanyama, Vertonghen, Dier, Davies, Eriksen, VDV, Walker, Rose, Bale, Berbatov, Lennon, Assou-Ekkoto, Adebayor ;) ...bloody hell that's just off the top of my head. All players cost under £12m and you're basically looking at a list of some of our top performers in PL history.

The bottom line is, without the unlimited oil money of City/Chelsea/United, the key is to spend carefully and wisely. Aside from Modric, I can't think of a single 'big bucks' signing who we could instantly see would improve the team. The likes of Dembele and Lamela have taken years to justify their price tags. Ultimately, all clues point to the fact that we aren't very good at splashing the cash, yet excel at spending prudently and wisely.

Wenger is also a master at balancing the books and keeping us in the black, but that comes at a cost when you are servicing a £750m debt, which usually impacts on your ability to keep your best players and pay the going rate for the best replacements. As mentioned, an alternative route is to develop youth, but they don't always come to fruition and it's a long term project, which impacts on keeping your current players happy.

Depending on what figures you look at, the comparative net spend of Arsenal and Spurs is very little, once source gives it as being nowhere near the £60m you cited, and lists it at £9m. In the last 5 years your net spend is one of the best in the league, but you benefited from the cash windfall from the Bale sale which kind of skews those figures. As for wages, if you manage to qualify for the Champions League regularly, then you will have to pay the players accordingly, the top players demand the top wages.

My bad, mate. In fact, I see that it was @Zanjinho who was suggesting that Zlatan could teach Kane a few things about being a striker. Sorry, mate. I never intended to wum, as you know.

I suppose the kinds of things that Zinjinho was thinking about are scoring hat-tricks in a 23 mins period of blistering genius, or scoring three hat-tricks in 9 games. That kind of thing.

Stoke have three players in the ref's book. Spurs have none.

I see a greater onslaught from us in the second half.

4-0 for Spuds against Stoke in the last 3 games. This is more exception than rule.

Losing 12-0 on aggregate to anyone over three games is quite embarrassing.
Their fans must be getting to hate seeing that fixture coming up.
Two of them have been at their ground, too. Questions will be asked of Hughes now.

You do see how you've contradicted yourself there, surely?
Spurs winning 4-0 is a massive exception and that can happen only against Stoke city..

I did have that rule in back of my mind while posting - Stoke losing 4-0 is rule.

That was the 8th time this season we've scored 4 goals or more. Pretty unexceptional exception.

Have I wummed by accident, again?

I'm trying so hard to go straight, lads. I really am.

Don't worry, though. I am going to pay a penance in order to atone for my inappropriate behaviour.
