The BBC Football "gossip" pages are running with a story that reads "Austin to Spurs, Kane to United," but when you look into it, all that emerges is the hopeful speculation of hack journos that Kane might go to United. There is absolutely nothing of any substance, whatsoever!


More plausible would be the story: "Spurs in bid for Austin to compliment Kane up front."

But, of course, the media moguls want United to be strong, not Spurs, so such a story does not fit their agenda.
