I don't care what's being reported, Pixie. I want you to tell me the legal principal by which a club, that is not a party to an agreement, can be bound by anything contained in that agreement. For the sake of clarity, we all accept that Adebayor is bound by the terms of the contract, because he is a party to it. I want you to tell me how it is that Palace (or any other club) can be bound by the terms of that contract.
You need to read what I have written: they (spurs) appear to have inserted a stipulation that if another club sign him, then any wage that that club pay him, would be deducted from the £100k that Spurs were paying him. The agreement may have been between Spurs and Adebayor, but triggers third party involvement in the severance deal once they sign him. The third party club, by signing Adebayor seem to have triggered that clause in the severance package. By signing him, they are agreeing to the terms agreed in the severance deal. It could quite easily have been written into the deal. The third party could I suppose have chosen not to have agreed to it, and not signed Adebayor. It makes sense for Spurs to do it this way, as otherwise the third party club could have just signed him as a free agent and let Spurs continue to pay his full wage.
For the sake of putting this to bed I will tell you what will/has happened. Spurs agree to terminate his contract and pay him a compensatory package to end his employment which is paid as severance in lieu of his loss of wages, but is cheaper than paying him the full contract value. The compensatory package is paid weekly at an alleged figure of £100k a week, until the end of June, or until he is employed and paid, and hence no longer has a loss of wages. If the new employer pays him less than the £100k a week alleged figure then Spurs pay the balance so that he still will have the full figure. Once June ends then Ade will have to manage on whatever new team pay him ! I feel sorry for the ****
You know what he'll do. Probably set the league on fire until the end of the season. Screw a contract out of Palace and then do **** all for the next year or two.
Any contract with Adebayor would have to be heavily weighted towards incentives. The best one, for Palace, would be "either you score goals, or you don't get paid, you lazy ****er!"
I think Arsenal Real Madrid City and Spurs have all tried that contract clause but the **** still gets away with doing **** all
He has reportedly earned nearly £5m whilst not even playing for those clubs who have paid him that money.
Fair play to £ity, they go a goal up to the mighty Sunderland and go above us, pushing us down into third. It's still all to play for, though, in these early stages, for us big boys. As for the best of the rest... well, Arsenal seem to be struggling at the moment against Saints (who've been a bit of a bogey team for the Gunners, in recent times). Still, as I say, it is early doors, and there is every chance that the Gunners can steal something from the match.
I'm an Arab, Aldo, and I've made my peace with them. So should you. It's been a long time since the Jews last invaded Scotland; it's time to forgive and forget.
I personally don't have much of a problem with the Jew mate. Although I did get a bit of hassle when helping myself to the pick and mix in Woolworths one day. Mind you look how that turned out eh. Aldo 1 Woolies 0. As for your Arab roots. Well we all know you are just kidding. You are just waiting for the Jew to get complacent and then you will Jihadi their arse.
