Not good enough to win it though...none of our teams are winning it. I would rather concentrate on the league. Want to challenge for it without Europe. It's honestly not bothering me as much as I thought it would. I want the ****in league!
.. no wind-up intended - and being out of Europe undoubtedly helps a league campaign ... but do you honestly think you will now finish above Chelsea, City, 'Pool, Goons and United this season? (I include United because I suspect they will open the war chest for Mourinho in January) ...
Have you and Ranieri been attending the same team talk classes? Smashed City, Good draw at Arsenal, drew with high flying Pool. Why would you put Pool in the mix and not us? United don't bother me. They can't throw more than they have on Pogba..and what? They sat 4 points behind us. Last season was great experience for our young team. This year we want some more. 4 points off the top end of November, best defence in the league...playing them mugs next week and I don't think we will lose to them. Top 4 is for us to lose as much as the others at this stage Fosse. You don't give up being 4 points behind in November. I think you are giving the teamtalks on Saturday Fosse...you are league champs...you need to up the ante.
I've seen our games against Arsenal. United, Liverpool, Chelsea and your boys mate ... we were relatively comfortable against you (our only away point! ) ... defended poorly against United... got torn apart at the back by Liverpool ... even more so by Chelsea and were unlucky against Arsenal but they were very dangerous ...and I watched their game against Chelsea and they were impressive ... You are struggling to beat teams and score goals (up to West Ham - who have conceded plenrty) ... they are not ... no malice in it ... but I doubt anybody but a Spurs fan would back you to finish in the top 4 (certainly not top 3) at this point ...
Mate let's be honest we could be sat at the top and still no one would back us....! You can't nit pick at little incidents here and there and use them to gauge things. You have to look at the bigger picture...to be in the mix means a lot to Spurs, you can see that in our mentality and how we try. This is sport, one can only try. To put Pool in there but not us smells a bit pooey to me mate....even at 'this point' they only 3 points ahead Claudio Liverpool smashed Leicester, Liverpool smashed Arsenal...Liverpool drew with us. World beaters City got rumbled at the Lane. You scored from your one shot at goal against us. Don't read too much into being comfy against us read into things like, top defence, Golden boot winner in our team and in general a team that turns up more than it doesn't.
... think you are taking it a little too much to heart buddy... I'd prefer a Spurs title win to a Liverpool one.... too may 'entitled' 'Pool fans like this fcuker please log in to view this image ... note I didn't say scousers - they're all over talkSport etc at the moment heralding the second coming with accents from Herefordshire, Devon and the Home Conuties proclaiming how they are going back to where they belong etc ... ... but the reality is that they have Mane, Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana, Sturridge & Co ... and frankly Spurs haven't got anybody that would displace any of them quite honestly.... and if Vardy had taken all of our pens last season Harold wouldn't even have the Golden Boot ... a better measure might be what Harold has done when the pressure is really on i.e at the U21 tournament when we were favourites and at the Euros last summer ... no goals in either... I'm merely saying that I don't see the current Spud squad as having as much quality as the other contenders ... but the table doesn't lie ... will be interesting to see how you get on against a very in form Chelsea at the weekend ... I might just have to eat some humble pie ...
Surely, you of all people, must realise that this is a team game. It's about balance, it's about desire it's about playing together as a unit with all the right players in the right places to achieve that balance. Last season, the individual talents of Leicester's squad were far less than their rivals on paper, that didn't stop them taking the title, because they were a well balanced side and played like a well balanced side.
Indeed I do ... which is why, right now, I think Chelsea are THE prime contenders ... Liverpool have found a balance too ... and carry perhaps the biggest attacking threat of the current top 6 ... but Chelsea have everything - including a core of players who have won the title before - and no European distractions ... Spurs are currently struggling up front, albeit the West Ham game might spark a revival in that department ... I feel like the unpopular guest at the party ... but I am merely saying it as I see it on current form at this particular time ... that can all change of course ...
