Because the games not over. It shows a weakness to the opposition as it suggests you're in awe of your opponent almost like a child would be. Play the bloody game and do those sort of things afterwards.
But didn't the other player ask for Mario's shirt - therefore, the opposition looks weak, not Mario? ...

By Eurosport UK 9 hours ago Eurosport please log in to view this image . Robbie Savage (PA Sport) Robbie Savage was a pundit for BT Sport for the game on Wednesday night, and was apparently furious with the Italian striker for being ill. The ex-Leicester City player said: "Pathetic isn't it? You're going to miss an FA Cup quarter-final? I don't know how unwell he is, but to miss an FA Cup quarter-final when you're feeling a bit ill? Nonsense. I would have to be really, really ill to miss that game." Mario Balotelli took to social media, as is the habit of every footballer in existence, to explain his absence from the FA Cup replay against Blackburn Rovers. Far from missing the match due to fecklessness and indolence, as the always committed and passionate Robbie Savage implied, he was in fact recovering from illness. He posted a picture and explanation on his Instagram account, holding a thermometer reading 38.7 degrees (Celsius, not Farenheit. He wasn't that ill), and said: "Nothing stop me to watch my team winning. (at least this time you know the real reason why I am out) . MISS THE PITCH SO MUCH" Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers also explained that it was a decision supported by the side's medical staff. "Mario travelled with us. He trained well, [but] fell ill last night. He stayed overnight with us in the hotel, [but] woke up still not feeling great. The doctors' advice was to send him back." OUR VIEW - Robbie Savage has form for being outspoken, but perhaps a better description of him would be an empty vessel who makes a lot of noise. From his shouting throughout commentary, to being called a 'k**bhead* by Paul Scholes, it is clear he's willing to play the pantomime villain instead of thinking before he speaks. Now he's chipped in with his medical opinion that contradicts Balotelli's proof of illness and Liverpool's own doctors' advice. It would not be unlike Savage to sound off before being proven wrong, th
if you have a temp you are fighting an infection, if you have an infection you don't train or play football otherwise you weaken your immune system and help said infection. Savage is a dumbass, he was ****, maybe because he played too much when ill Brod should have played the virus instead of Balo, might have got more joy
Mario Balotelli has no future at Liverpool... Brendan Rodgers ignored the warning signs but has finally lost patience with the striker The thermometer reading Mario Balotelli shared on social media to prove he was too ill to play against Blackburn on Wednesday night will make no difference to Brendan Rodgers. Liverpool’s manager had already gone cold on the Italian, concluding some time ago that he has no future at Anfield. Rodgers will admit he ignored the warnings about Balotelli. He knew Jose Mourinho considered him ‘unmanageable’ and he listened to the anecdotal evidence he received from the members of his staff who had encountered the troublesome striker during their time at Manchester City. But Rodgers rather hoped Balotelli might be maturing with age, and he made the mistake of thinking he could succeed where others had failed in actually getting through to him. please log in to view this image Mario Balotelli has no future at Liverpool after manager Brendan Rodgers lost patience with the striker please log in to view this image SHARE PICTURE Copy link to paste in your message +9 Rodgers will admit he ignored the warning signs but had hoped Balotelli was maturing as he got older please log in to view this image SHARE PICTURE Copy link to paste in your message +9 Balotelli shared an image of a thermometer reading to prove he was too ill to play against Blackburn please log in to view this image Liverpool’s manager was desperate too, of course. Attempts to recruit other strikers, in particular Alexis Sanchez, had proved unsuccessful last summer and he was concerned that Rickie Lambert would not provide ample cover in a Champions League season if Daniel Sturridge suffered further injury problems. He was right to worry about Sturridge’s physical fragility but wrong, he would probably now concede, to spend £16million on Balotelli. For three hours in his office at Melwood he attempted to lessen the risk before asking his employers to part with the money. He spoke both to Balotelli and his agent, explaining what was expected of every Liverpool player and sharing his philosophy on the power of the collective. Over the years his C.O.R.E principles speech – Commitment. Ownership. Responsibilities. Excellence – had worked with players. He would use a flip-chart to deliver his lecture on the standards he demands and, for the most part, players had responded accordingly. But not Balotelli. Rodgers didn't choose Balotelli the committee did. He doesn't fit in with Rodger's style at all, I reckon the committee thought they could take another Suarez misfit type and turn him into another 75m player. Balo was never the type to play Rodgers style of football. Brod also categorically denied we were bringing balo in, he even laughed at the suggestion but someone at Milan knew more than Rodgers did about who we were looking at apparently. Not a good sign at all. The next tme we do well in the league it would serve the club well not to get all uppity and go make a complete bollocks of the progress made, this happened after 2009 and it happened again in 2014 Only Rodgers can take the blame for Lovren, Lambo was a shot to nothing and Lallana can be good, Markovic tho.. Brod takes the blame for him too, has looked like an average Championship player
Player has a fever - let's have him in and around the squad to infect others. Amazing how Mario doesn't play, but still gets scapegoated.
I love Mario. Regardless of his role. Not suited to us - but you can't blame him for that. Should have had more run outs mind.
Bad move Mario! Liverpool striker Balotelli left RED FACED after Manchester United win MARIO BALOTELLI’S latest Twitter jaunt failed spectacularly after he goaded Manchester United a little too early in the derby this afternoon. please log in to view this image PAMario Balotelli celebrated Sergio Aguero's goal on Twitter The Liverpool striker celebrated Sergio Aguero’s opener for former team Manchester City with a Tweet that read: “Yeeeees city @aguerosergiokun !!! 1-0 OLD TRAFFORD...Stand up and shut up.” Unfortunately for the Italian, United replied with four goals as they stuffed City 4-2 to further secure third place in the Premier League. Balotelli himself has enjoyed previous notoriety at Old Trafford. In the 2011 he scored a neat goal while playing for City and celebrated by revealing his now infamous “Why Always Me?” printed t-shirt.
Arsenal and Manchester United fans planning to hijack Liverpool player of the year poll by voting for Mario Balotelli please log in to view this image Liverpool’s player of the year? (Picture: Reuters) Arsenal and Man United fans are attempting to mess with Liverpool’s season yet again – by hijacking their player of the year award. Both sides dented Liverpool’s Champions League hopes with consecutive wins over the Reds, and their fans are now going back for more. Anyone with an e-mail address can vote, and United and Gunners supporters are starting a campaign to ensure that Mario Balotelli – who’s scored three goals this season – comes out on top when the winner is announced. The would-be hijackers also want to see Lazar Markovic become Liverpool’s young player of the year, and there is also a category called ‘performance of the year’ – they wouldn’t vote for Gerrard’s 38-second one against United, would they? http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/sampdoria-ready-offer-mario-balotelli-9040914
It missed Saints fans voting for Lovren and yes, everyone would vote for Gerrards fantasic showing. It was the highlight of Liverpools season.
