Am I right in thinking that each comp/laptop has a different IP address? In which case he could be doing it from another comp/laptop.

I think it's Mingin by the way it writes.

He failed wumming on our board so now he will try and make us fans look arrogant by doing it to other boards.

    He's done it before.!!

    Remember BLueScout/SaintScout!

    Remember BLueScout/SaintScout!

There were at least 30 different user names before them, no exaggeration.

I.P can be changed easily tho?, theres really no point in trying to block some one by I.P.
There's even sites you can join that change your I.P address by a simple click of a button.

They can change ip addresses it is true but not as quick as you might think. Also the range he uses gives us a clue. All known wums tend to use a range of Ip addresses the width of their apparatus ip they cannot change unless they change equipment. So it narrows the likely hood down. Do not forget we can find out the provider which is the other clue. There is two more ways we use which we keep up our sleeve. When all used together the likely hood of being wrong decreases significantly. When the person types, it confirms it. It is a pity such things are necessary.
My advice would be to treat all new posters with respect and dignity as we normally do if you become suspicious don't tell him, tell us!

Guys I know you think it might be SB3. But it isn't. I have spent a lot of time dealing with this person. Cross checking threads, IP ads, hours on the clock.

    You have to trust me on this one. The Pompey (as are the Saints guys were the situation reversed) mods are in a far better position to know who is who, where they are based, what method they use to post, PC, Phone, etc;

I know I am right. so please no more speculation, we've all got to work together, to get rid of this troll.

Also as annoying as SB was/is he didn't stoop to the levels this person has. Not even close.

Yeah you can. But all of his different Aliases still have the same code, from the same place.
So we always know when it's him.

I think you underestimate a) How much time he has on his hands & b) How sad he is.
But hey, what do I care, he only ruffled my feathers when they were two leagues above us buying success on the never never. Times do change.

Their are sites that you can use, that let you down a simple tool. This tool filters your I.P address changing it everytime you log on. There are also websites that you can use were you do all your browsing through their browser interface . They in turn mask your proper I.P address and give you a new one every few mins.

But why this guy or whatever uses this to simply wind up is crazy.

The pity of it all is that you mods have to spend so much time and effort checking these "THINGS" out.

There are, but it's pretty easy to determine whether they're using a proxy, or even something like a Tor exit node. Chances are that this guy is using a static, residential IP, so unless SB3 moved to an entirely new location just to troll (highly unlikely), it's pretty open-and-shut; the mods are right, and this is an entirely different person.

Not sure whether the powers-that-be have the ability, but it might be worth asking whether they can attach a temporary suspension function...something that the mods can use to shut the guy up while waiting for the ban to be applied, rather than chasing him around, deleting posts.

True still don't see why someone would use anything like them just to wind up.

If it is SB3 he would always be moving to new locations when his caravan gets moved on.

I can understand the suspicion, but I can also confirm that he is not SB3. Notwithstanding the technical stuff, this character has plumbed depths which Sb3 never has. To echo Beddy, all new posters should be welcomed, but at the first sign of trouble, send the Saints mods a PM and don't engage with the troll himself.

Of course, for there to be the first sign of trouble, one often has to engage with the troll first, but I take your point, CF.
