When a team has spent £35 million on the likes of Andy Carroll, they are never in a position to berate any other players from rival teams.
I was actually amused by the idea of De Gea actually being a foosball keeper. It was hardly real evaluation of the player but he does move like a foosball keeper
League One outfit Notts County have confirmed that Manchester United are interested in their teenage goalkeeper Fabian Speiss. It is thought United chief Sir Alex Ferguson has sent scouts to watch the 18-year-old German youth-team custodian on several occasions over the course of the current campaign. And the Magpies' head of youth Mick Leonard revealed that United's Premier League rivals Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham have also had representatives watching Speiss in action for the youth team and loan side Lewes. Speiss has yet to feature in the first-team for County and, while Leonard hopes that he will be a key player at Meadow Lane in the future, he fears that the lure of joining a club like United would be too great for him to turn down. "Man Utd have been looking at him for a long time," said Leonard in the Nottingham Evening Post. He added: "He's as good as any young goalkeeper I have seen and I wouldn't be surprised if any of the big clubs did want him. He's got everything a modern goalkeeper needs." "He's got a lot of ability and a great attitude. He's very mature and is physically very big so he commands his box. He's brave and he kicks the ball well. "He can go all the way if he keeps working as hard as he is now. He has got so much potential. "I would love to see him play for our first team. I believe he's good enough and, if he did, his value would only rise even more."
EXCLUSIVE: United prepare £15m bid for the Dutch Keano He’s PSV Eindhoven’s Kevin Strootman. The 22 year-old midfielder has earned rave reviews for club and country. He has appeared in ten of Holland’s last 11 games. He missed their win at Wembley through injury. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reviewing his summer transfer targets. United insiders believe a deal for Strootman is close to completion. Strootman skippers PSV and has kept Manchester City’s enforcer Nigel de Jong out of the Dutch team. He’s seen as a key man in their bid for Euro 2012 glory. United scouts have checked out Strootman 12 times in recent weeks. Ferguson likes to nail his summer deals early and United have done some spectacular business with PSV in the past. Ruud van Nistelrooy and Jaap Stam both arrived at Old Trafford in major deals from PSV. Strootman is a player with a winning mentality like United’s former skipper Keane and his Dutch sidekick Mark van Bommel.
In-demand Lyon defender Aly Cissokho wants a move to Manchester United this summer with the club considering a long-term successor to Patrice Evra. 'He has already turned down interest from AC Milan and Juventus because he wants to move to the Premier League and his preferred destination would be Manchester United.' Barat added to talkSport. Cissokho, 24, once failed a medical at AC Milan over problems with his teeth which the Italian club believed could lead to spinal problems. He made his international debut last year during Evra's exile from the France squad following the World Cup debacle in South Africa. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...Cissokhos-preferred-destination.html?ITO=1490

Manchester United want Oscar de Marcos, the Athletic Bilbao attacker who helped dump Sir Alex Ferguson's side out of the Europa League. United have already sent scouts to watch De Marcos, 22, and chief scout Jim Lawlor will fly out to Spain to watch him in the coming weeks ahead of any potential offer. The Spanish club have written a £26million release clause into his contract and performances this season under coach Marcelo Bielsa could persuade United to stump up the full amount. United front: De Marcos could be heading back to Old Trafford De Marcos scored in both Europa League legs and has been identified as an ideal addition to the Old Trafford club's ageing midfield. Even Ryan Giggs' and Paul Scholes' playing days must end one day – the pair continue to impress into their late 30s, but United must prepare for a future without them. Ferguson has also been linked with moves for Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder and Lille’s Eden Hazard in recent months Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...United-target-Oscar-Marcos.html#ixzz1rBfz7NK0

Blackburn boss Steve Kean has warned Sir Alex Ferguson off making a move for Rovers defender Grant Hanley. Hanley is thought to have impressed Manchester United manager Ferguson during his side's 2-0 win over Rovers at Ewood Park on Monday night. The 20-year-old has established himself as a regular in Kean's side this term, forming a solid central defensive partnership with Scott Dann. Kean revealed Ferguson spoke highly of Hanley after Monday's game, but he has told the Old Trafford supremo not to make a move for the young Scot. Complimentary "He was very complimentary about Grant," Kean told The Sun. "He thinks he's good enough to play for Scotland for the next 10 to 15 years, and I agree. "I hope Fergie's not going to be putting a bid in. I said that to him. "I told him leave it a bit longer because Grant is only just starting with us." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/7653157/?utm_source=MUFCNews&utm_medium=twitter
