Don't know much about him. By all accounts hes had one good season but it was very good. Stones is very promising. Stalwart of Everton so young too.
I personally don't know anything about Otamendi, he could well turn out to be ****e. Who knows? None of us if the truth is being told so let's not pretend otherwise. Stones is a good prospect, as is Virgil van Dyke at Celtic. I'd have thought van Gaal would go after him if he was good enough though as he loves a Dutchman. Is he better then what we have though? If not, no point.
Every player in Europe is a United target according to the press! LVG seems happy with Smalling as his main man, justifiably so based on his form since the start of the year, and the abundance of other centre halves we have to play alongside him. I don't think we will sign a centre half.
People are overrating this Otamendi he's had one good season and he's like late 20's. Plus we not had much luck with Argies, Veron, Heinze, Tevez, Di Maria and Rojo and Romero hardly look great.

United have over the years taken a gamble on their own youngsters. Smalling has started the season with good performances. We shouldn't ignore that. I agree with those who say that a CB is a low priority at the moment. I've been impressed with the defence and the defensive midfield. Hopefully Memphis has kick started the creative side. When basti gets fitter, we will only need a good striking force. Rooney is not doing it but may enjoy it more with Mane and Memphis on either side. We are truly seeing a team emerging at last. I don't want to tempt fate but at the moment the only team ahead of us (and every one else) is City.
how we don't need another CB? tbh we didn't meet a decent attacking side yet to expose our CBs, yes we survived some matches thanks to the new 2 DMs system and a great performance from Smalling, but all our CBs are injury prone tbh, and form wise i only can put Smalling, the rest are just really too inconsistent, and we will sure drop points bcz of our CBs

That's the media view which you have swallowed. I think that if a good CB becomes available it would wise for United to get him: Ramos, Hummels were thought to be but in the end not. Otamedi seemed to have either chosen City or we were not interested. The defence has looked as solid as I have seen for a long time. You might think they haven't met any decent opposition yet but Spurs and Villa have decent attacks. I really don't think it will be a major disaster if we didn't buy another CB.
What more can Smalling do to be rated by the Big Name Hunters? We've had the best defence in the PL since November last year. Seemingly that was solely down to De Gea who hasn't played yet this season! The lad's long passing is quite poor but he's a good old fashioned blocker with a brain and the brain part is important when you have players like Schnei and Schwei in front of you. Win the ball and give it to them! He's not Baresi but neither was Steve Bruce!
Did we play anybody that had a good strike force in all that time People have been saying we need defenders for ages but not really saying why. We have added Darmian to that poor defence since November also.
